- Part of the GT 1000 shoe line, the 7th edition gains the appreciation of mild-to-moderate overpronators. The façade of this product is comprised of a cloth-like exterior and a smooth interior sleeve to evoke the feeling of merely wearing a sock. Printed overlays bolster the structural integrity without adding any unnecessary bulk.
- Underfoot cushioning is the responsibility of a midsole unit that is filled with cushioning technologies and stability mechanisms. While a full-length foam serves as the primary platform on which the foot rests, two additional pieces are placed in the rear section to mitigate landing impact and steady the heel. The DuoMax® Support System and Guidance Trusstic System are the elements that prevent the arch from collapsing during the run.
- The external pad is comprised of a rubber compound that is highly resistant to abrasion. This generous layer staves off the unpleasant effects of surface contact and rubbing. A set of shallow trenches permit the platform to bend with the foot as it takes each step.
The outsole unit of the Asics GT 1000 7 is composed of the Asics High Abrasion Rubber or AHAR®. This layer of rubber is designed to shield the midsole from the debilitating nature of the asphalt, preserving its structure and effectiveness. Also, it has a grippy characteristic that allows the shoe to adhere to the ground at all times.
Flex grooves allow the underfoot platform to move more freely. It’s a practical design that encourages the natural mechanical transition of the foot as it goes through the cycle of taking each step.
SpEVA is a full-length cushioning unit that’s designed to carry the foot throughout the running session. This material is also meant to be responsive and durable.
The FlyteFoam® Lyte is a bouncy foam that serves as the base of the Asics GT 1000 7’s heel. It is meant to add more energy to each step while also improving durability. It’s made using environmentally friendly compounds.
The heel makes use of the Gel® cushioning unit, which is a silicon-based gel that’s responsible for absorbing impact shock during the striking phase of the gait cycle.
The DuoMax® Support System is composed of a dual-density foam, the task of which is to act as a foundation for the arch of the foot. It fundamentally prevents overpronation.
A plastic unit in the midfoot section called the Guidance Trusstic System is meant to support the muscles and tendons of the underfoot, preventing them from buckling or feeling strained during the run.
The upper unit of the GT 1000 7 makes use of engineered mesh, which is a cloth-like fabric that adheres to the shape and motion of the wearer’s foot. It has ventilation holes that accommodate the flow of air into the interior chamber.
A set of thin overlays have been printed onto the façade. These add-ons heighten the visual aspect of this shoe. They also help in providing a snug and secure fit by connecting themselves to the lacing system and adapting to the tightness or looseness of the coverage.
A layer of reflective material lines the overlay system. Such an arrangement allows the shoe to be visible in environments that are shrouded in low light, basically becoming a safety measure for those who desire to run at night.
The traditional lacing system is comprised of semi-round laces and inconspicuous eyelets that are reinforced by the thin overlays. This fit-adjustment scheme manipulates the in-shoe security, allowing for a customized foot-hug that caters to the preference of the wearer.
The padded tongue and collar are meant to hold the foot in place. Furthermore, these parts of the upper cushion the Achilles tendon, the ankles, and the bridge of the foot. The stuffed approach of a shoe-opening is helpful when it comes to the prevention of accidental shoe removals.
