The ASICS GT-1000 7 combines a supportive upper with a stable base to deliver a comfortable ride that feels fast. The slimmed-up feel and lower drop will better appeal to neutral runners, yet the structure of the shoe offers the stability users have come to expect.
- The Asics GT 1000 7 is a running shoe that is part of the global line of road running shoes. It is also an update to a relatively fresh series that has allowed Asics to gain the appreciation of mild-to-moderate overpronators. The façade of this product is comprised of a cloth-like exterior and a smooth interior sleeve to evoke the feeling of merely wearing a sock. Printed overlays bolster the structural integrity without adding any unnecessary bulk.
- Underfoot cushioning is the responsibility of a midsole unit that is filled with cushioning technologies and stability mechanisms. While a full-length foam serves as the primary platform on which the foot rests, two additional pieces are placed in the rear section to mitigate landing impact and steady the heel. The DuoMax® Support System and Guidance Trusstic System are the elements that prevent the arch from collapsing during the run.
- The external pad is comprised of a rubber compound that is highly resistant to abrasion. This generous layer staves off the unpleasant effects of surface contact and rubbing. A set of shallow trenches permit the platform to bend with the foot as it takes each step.

The underfoot sections of the Wave Inspire shoes are comprised of energy-returning foam units and stabilizing thermoplastic layers coined as the ‘Mizuno Wave.’ These technologies work together to ensure comfort and in-shoe steadiness. The version of the ‘Wave’ that is in the Inspire line is called Double Fan Wave, which is a denser form of the technology that staves off the uncommon rolling in of the foot as it goes through the gait cycle.
