- The Asics Gel Quantum 360 presents their fourth release – a springy, responsive runner generously bordered with their signature Gel® cushioning. The shoe aims for a more premium feel compared to its predecessor, while delivering the endurance and support that loyal users are familiar with.
- Introducing a new woven upper, the shoe brings a more supportive fit as it offers a locked-down feel but still retaining the comfortable sensation on foot.
- The sole unit, on the other hand, continues the signature structure of the Gel Quantum 360, with its Gel® technology supplying a 360-degree underfoot coverage. In between the Gel® cushioning remains the Solyte® material for maximum rebound and shock absorption.
The Gel Quantum 360 4 is formed with a standard length and width of a running shoe. Like most Asics runners, the shoe is available in a wide range of sizes. The shoe’s structure from forefoot to heel is designed for wearers with a low to moderate foot volume. Width profiles for both men and women are in medium.
Same as with the popular Asics Gel Cumulus 20, the Asics High-Abrasion Rubber (AHAR®) makes up this shoe’s outsole. It is reinforced in the forefoot and heel, also known as the high-wear areas of a shoe. Because the AHAR® is made from similar rubber material as car tires, the outsole is guaranteed to be durable and protective, while also retaining the essential function of gripping on various surfaces.
At the forefront of the Gel Quantum 360 4 is the Gel® technology in the midsole, and, as the name suggests, the shoe has 360-degrees of Gel® coverage surrounding the midsole. This design intends for all-around shock absorption, to ensure the foot receives minimal pressure from impact from all angles. With the Gel® cushioning, the movement is more fluid and more efficient as the foot transitions throughout the gait cycle.
Inside the Gel® cushioning border is the Solyte®, an ultra-light midsole material that offers maximum cushioning and durability. Unlike regular ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) midsoles, the Solyte® material is lighter, thus endorsing a premium feel while enabling a faster speed.
The Gel Quantum 360 4 also promotes torsional rigidity with the aid of the Trusstic System®. This technology comes in the form of a thermoplastic unit within the midfoot, providing the foot with steadiness by preventing the shoe from unnecessary twists and turns. Aside from that, the Trusstic System® also gives the structural integrity of the shoe.
Working hand-in-hand with the Trusstic System® is the Impact Guidance System (IGS®), a design concept that promotes stability. The IGS® works by giving the shoe an ability to work with the foot, instead of trying to control it. Such a mechanism results in a more efficient and natural gait cycle.
An OrthoLite® X-40 sockliner tops the midsole of the Gel Quantum 360 4. It presents a high-rebound property and increases the responsiveness of the shoe, as well as its cushioning level. The sockliner also has an antibacterial quality.
The upper of the Gel Quantum 360 4 introduces the FluidFit® material, a unique combination of stretch mesh and other stretchable reinforcements to create an adaptable and contoured fit. As it produces a glove-like fit, the FluidFit® improves running efficiency because the upper is now more responsive towards the foot’s movements. The FluidFit® upper is installed using a seamless construction, which reduces the risk of irritation and friction.
The shoe’s external heel counter is equipped with the Heel Clutching System™, which provides the foot with enhanced support, as well as a more precise fit at the rearfoot area. This feature prevents the foot from slipping out of the shoe.
