- The Asics Gel Pulse 8 GTX is the latest versions of the Gel Pulse series. The shoe was designed to provide added comfort, traction and durability.
- The upper features a Gore-Tex material, which is breathable and waterproof. It protects the interior foot chamber from water infiltration.
- The midsole integrates the SpEVA Technology which minimizes energy lost throughout the gait cycle. Gel units are also placed to absorb impact during the landing phase. The outsole features Asics High Abrasion Rubber, which provides enough traction on a wide variety of surfaces.
Asics Gel Pulse 8 GTX size and fit
The Asics Gel Pulse 8 GTX is a neutral road running shoe. It is suited for runners who want to excel on multiple types of terrains. When it comes to sizing, the shoe has a standard running shoe length. The available widths are Medium for both men and women's versions.
Just like the popular Asics Gel Contend 4, the outsole of the Asics Gel Pulse 8 GTX is made up of the Asics High Abrasion Resistance Rubber +, also known as AHAR+. This material is strategically placed in the critical areas for added durability and performance. It is significant in keeping the outsole from wearing down because it’s designed to be tougher than the typical rubber sole.
The Flex Grooves at the back and front area of the outsole enable the foot to bend naturally, particularly when running.
The Guidance Line is a vertical groove that aids the foot in achieving a more natural heel-to-toe transition.
The Asics Gel Pulse 8 GTX features the SpEVA Midsole Technology, which contributes to the bouncy characteristic of the shoe. Its durable construction reduces midsole breakdown caused by repetitive use. Furthermore, SpEVA minimizes the energy loss and channels it into the run to decrease fatigue and increase performance.
The Rearfoot and Forefoot Gel Cushioning System heightens the cushioning and shock absorbing properties of the shoe. It also helps in reducing stress on the runner's joints. Shock is attenuated during the impact phase.
The Guidance Trusstic System adds structural integrity to the midfoot section of the platform. It also guides the foot as it moves, thus enabling a more natural and less wobbly ride.
The midsole also features the Removable EVA Sockliner. This is molded to the shape of the runner's foot to provide some cushioning to the areas that aren’t usually given attention.
The upper of the Asics Gel Pulse 8 GTX is made up of the Gore-Tex Membrane. This is a thin layer of ePTFE or polytetrafluoroethylene that has more than nine billion pores per square inches. These pores are breathable, windproof and waterproof. This is designed to protect the runner's foot during severe weather conditions.
It is bonded with shell textile and performance linings that create the Gore-Tex Laminate. This structure improves the versatility and comfort of the shoe.
It utilizes a Reflective material that is produced by the 3M company. It makes this shoe more visible in low-light conditions.
It features the California Slip Lasting for added comfort. This material is stitched around an EVA board or canvas which is directly attached to the shoe’s midsole area.
