The Asics Gel Mai x Patta is a unisex shoe that is available in both men and women's sizes. The guys can select from sizes 6 to 12.4 while the ladies can choose from sizes 7.5 to 14.

With a cleatie construction, the sneaker functions like a slip-on when putting it on. Its knit-crafted upper offers breathability while nubuck overlays provide stability and support. It utilizes an asymmetrical lacing system with adjustments available up to the heel part.

Taking the OG Gel Mai's futuristic and unconventional look and feel, Patta decided to trade in the mesh upper with a light pink one-piece sock-like design – a truly modern update that sits well with today's sneaker trends. Its head-turning construction is bathed in a unique color combination of light pink and dark brown that will surely add oomph to any outfit.

Pairing this kick with cropped trousers or joggers are the safest choices if you want to go for an athleisure inspired look. Color-wise, monochromatic ensembles or earth-toned clothes will perfectly complement the sneaker's trendy colorway.

The Gel Mai's unique aesthetic is noteworthy in itself, but Patta stepped it up a notch by updating its materials and colorway into a modern looking piece. The combination of the light pink and dark brown is stylish and unique, while the minimal knit upper satisfies the contemporary sneakerhead's need for comfortable and breathable fit. 3M accents and Patta's branding beautifully finishes this kick's bold look. And finally, all these sit atop a chunky midsole equipped with the brand's signature fuzeGEL technology for added comfort and cushioning.

The Asics Gel Mai was introduced as a lighter alternative to the brand's famous running sneakers during the 90s. Technology inspired its bold and eye-catching design. It displayed a distinct aesthetic that's a complete departure from the brand's customary and recognizable models such as the Gel Lyte III and Gel Lyte V. The Gel Mai is Asics' first sneaker that features a one-piece upper with its signature Stripe logos repositioned to the midsole.

The shoe was known in the 90s amongst two groups: serious runners for its optimal comfort and cushioning and sneakerheads for its one of a kind design that embodied the decade's bold and flashy fashion sense.

In 2017, the Gel Mai was resurrected through a collaboration release with Ronnie Fieg. This started a series of other brands noticing the Gel Mai silhouette and putting their twist on the shoe. Moreover, with the 90's aesthetic being back on trend today it made sense that Asics decided to include the Gel Mai in their lineup of mainstay models.

In the same year, a famous streetwear brand from Amsterdam called Patta decided to release their version of the Gel Mai. Crafted from a knit sock-like upper, the sneaker exudes a different vibe and a lighter feel. It is available in a single colorway called the Rose Cloud.

  • It comes with an extra pair of shoelaces.
  • A pull-tab is placed on the heel for easier entry.
