Asics Gel Kayano Trainer Knit History
During the 1940s, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka crafted a shoe for basketball in his home in Japan. In 1977, he established his shoe company and named it ASICS, which is an acronym for the Latin phrase “Anima Ana in Corpore Sano” which means “A Sound Minds in a Sound Body”.
Fast forward to the current days, ASICS still offers footwear, apparel and accessories to cater various buyers and wearers. They stayed faithful in dedicating their products in promoting harmonious body and mind.
Shoe innovation is constant to cater the incessant needs of consumers. Asics developed the Gel cushioning system which is placed in the forefoot and heel of the shoe. It is a soft material that absorbs the landing force, thus reduces the impact of each step.
Back in 1990, the Gel Trendy was the first shoe design that used the gel technology. It is a stability running shoe that has typical aesthetics which, ironically, made it more interesting for consumers. Various models with gel technology were released after the Gel Trendy.
Gel-Kayano was released in 1993 and released for long distance running. The design was inspired by beetle’s exoskeleton strength, with a hornlike sole and coolmax-lined mesh upper. This has theta Gel cushioning in the rearfoot and P-Gel in the forefoot.
In the 2017, Asics revamped their iconic Gel-Kayano running shoe to fit the modern day aesthetics. This lifestyle shoe must-have still uses the same tooling as the original release except for the upper. They added the Knit material in the upper for a glove like fit. The bold cage overlay is also present for a superior lockdown fit.
Asics Gel Kayano Trainer Knit Style
The Asics Gel Kayano Trainer Knit has the traditional trainer profile made with innovative material. This inventive fusion of the classic style with advanced technology makes this pair suitable for the on-trend fashion. All-day wearing is not a problem with this pair because of its lightness and comfort. Some users sport this with lace-up while some users can pretty much run away with unlaced shoe. Wearers can use this pair with their joggers, skinny jeans, shorts or with their active wear. The Asics Gel Kayano Trainer Knit can go with almost any casual attire the wearers wish to strut.
Fit & Sizing
The Asics Gel Kayano Trainer Knit has a traditional lacing system for a personalized secure fit. Laces are ran through the TPU caged overlays and also through the knit to provide a lockdown fit. The TPU heel counter is present to provide the wearer with little support. It has a removable insole which wearers have all the liberty to change it with orthotics. The Asics Gel Kayano Trainer Knit generally runs true to size and is offered in medium width. Men can choose from sizes 4 to 14 while women have size 5.5 to 15.5 US.
The most notable feature of the Asics gel Kayano Trainer Knit is its monochromatic look. From the shoelace to the outsole, the Asics Gel Kayano Trainer Knit showcases a unicolor theme. Many buyers liked this as it contributes to its simple and clean overall look.
Some buyer also noted about the similarities between the Gel Kayano Trainer Knit and the Adidas NMD Primeknit. Both shoes exhibit a sock-like collar. This kind of collar provides a snug and supportive feel to the wearers.
