The Asics Gel Kayano 26 MX is a stability running shoe designed to provide lasting comfort and support for long-distance runs. This special edition shoe is manufactured with a visually appealing, modern design that honors Tokyo's heritage.
Using the improved Gel® technology and new upper construction, the designers made the Asics Gel Kayano 26 MX more comfortable and supportive compared to the original Asics Gel Kayano 26.
The Molded Asics High Abrasion Rubber (AHAR®) outsole is featured in the Gel Kayano 26 MX. This component is positioned in critical areas of the outsole for exceptional durability and protection.
The Asics Gel Kayano 26 MX follows the standard shoe measurement. Runners can expect a snug and comfortable in-shoe feel with how the upper is constructed.
Other elements that affect the fit of the running shoe include the lace-up closure and sockliner. The shoelaces offer a secure and customized fit, while the sockliner helps provide a high level of comfort.
Providing superior durability is the AHAR® technology, which is placed in high wear areas of the outsole. The AHAR® outsole is made from a compound that is more durable compared to the standard outsole materials. This component also offers a firm grip on various surfaces.
For all-day comfort, a soft foam formulation called FlyteFoam® Propel technology is integrated into the Asics Gel Kayano 26 MX. It utilizes a unique elastomer compound that offers excellent shock absorption.
The FlyteFoam® Propel is coupled with the Gel™ technology for a smooth and well-cushioned ride. The Gel™ is positioned in both the rearfoot and forefoot sections. This technology is designed to attenuate shock during impact and toe-off phases while allowing movement in multiple planes as the foot transitions through the gait cycle.
The DuoMax® Support System is also integrated into the midsole, providing optimal support. This technology is used to minimize the effect of overpronation while walking or running.
Helping maintain stable movements is the Guidance Trusstic System™ technology. This component is used in the middle part of the sole, providing midfoot structural integrity. It prevents the sole from twisting during movement.
The ethel vinyl acetate (EVA) sockliner is utilized in this Asics running shoe for added comfort. EVA is a lightweight material that has special cushioning properties. The sockliner also offers added underfoot protection.
The manufacturers incorporated a new upper construction that delivers a more stable and comfortable ride. The upper utilizes tight-woven fabric that offers lasting support and protection against the elements. Reflective details are also infused in the upper to improve the runner’s visibility during low-light runs.
This road running shoe uses the Heel Clutching System™, which gives excellent support. It is specifically designed to reduce the gap in the heel section, giving an improved fit.
The traditional lacing system is featured in the Asics Gel Kayano 26 MX for a secure and personalized fit. A padded tongue is also included in the shoe, protecting the top of the foot from getting pinched by the shoelaces. The tongue prevents the small rocks and debris from getting inside the shoe.
