A popular pick

Asics dropped the 12th generation Gel Challenger infused with the same performance features exhibited by its predecessor. Comfort is offered by its Gel units embedded in the front and rear sides of the midsole. This cushioning technology is supplemented by the lightweight Solyte foam that intends to deliver a responsive feel.

Stability is another key component of the 12th Asics Gel Challenger version, which is demonstrated by the midfoot Trusstic shank. This feature is responsible for minimizing unwanted foot rotation during quick court movements.

The top of the shoe is integrated with a Flexion Fit technology to allow the foot to flex with ease.  The bottom part is made with an abrasion-resistant AHAR outsole.

Material. The abrasion-resistant property of the outsole extends the life of the shoe. Explicitly, it is arranged with the AHAR (Asics High Abrasion Rubber) that is deposited in high-wear zones. Such a unit is durable enough to withstand the uncompromising demands of multi-court surfaces.

Traction. This type of underfoot rubber compound is devised with a modified herringbone tread pattern that’s intended to cater excellent traction and durability on varied court surfaces.

Support. Explosive lateral moves are inevitable in the game of tennis and to restrain the foot from twisting wrongly, a Trusstic System is lodged in the midfoot. This shank is made of a resin that suppresses inward rolling of the foot, thus offering stability during speedy directional changes and lateral cuts.

Cushioning. As its name suggests, this shoe features the most famous innovation by Asics, the Gel technology. These silicone-made Gel units are explicitly placed at the front and back segments of the midsole, encapsulated in a polyurethane material. Distinctively, the gel pads diminish shock during heel-to-forefoot strikes and toe-offs.

The rest of the midsole is made of Solyte, a lightweight sponge that’s built with a sufficient amount of mechanical strength. To illustrate how almost weightless it is, the foam composite is lighter than the conventional EVA and SpEVA.

Adding more cushioning to this shoe is the interchangeable Ortholite sockliner which can be replaced with customized or medical orthotic inserts. This full-length sponge prevents odor and sweat from building up inside since it’s made with moisture-wicking properties.

Composition. The foot gets encased in a combination of mesh and synthetic materials that are crafted using the foot-forming Flexion Fit technology. This engineering concept provides lots of flexibility to the shoe. It intends to help users achieve their desired court performance without worrying about stiffness and lack of elasticity across the top.

Protection. The front portion of the shoe is wrapped with a long-lasting polyurethane-constructed PGuard toe protector. This added layer works as a shield that protects the forefoot from immediate wear caused by foot-dragging motion.

Fit. On the rear end, the heel gets support from two layers of memory foam called the PHF (Personal Heel Fit). This piece of padding molds precisely to the shape of the heel as if hugging it while offering a personalized fit during aggressive cuts.
