80 / 100 based on 7 expert reviews

  • 75 / 100 by TheGingerRunner • Ethan Newberry • Level 5 expert

It seemed to be the best balance of simple, cushioned, responsive, low drop, flexible and comfy. I have trouble with over-engineered shoes with too much tech and marketing.

  • 85 / 100 by GEARIST • GEARIST • Level 2 expert

A high-mileage running shoe that has a good amount of cushioning, the 33-FA is kind of a paradox because atop that definite cushioning lies a firm footbed which allows the foot a firm and solid base on which to ride and function.

  • 85 / 100 by Gearist • Brandon Wood • Level 5 expert

As I said above, the Asics 33-FA is a good high-mileage running shoe whose construction seems to belie it’s feel.

  • 80 / 100 by Solereview • Solereview • Level 5 expert

Asics does a commendable job at differentiating all three, and consequently the 33FA sits in the sweet spot. It is substantially lighter than the bulky 33M, only marginally heavier than the 33DFA, and the cushioning softness feels just right.

  • 80 / 100 by Road Trail Run • Sam Winebaum • Level 5 expert

The 33-FA is a fine light trainer. Not quite as light as some of its competitors, it trades some weight for a firmer, and presumably more durable mid and outsole along with extensive full contact outsole coverage on the road.

  • 80 / 100 by Running Shoes Guru • Jim Coulson • Level 4 expert

This shoe has a 4mm offset which places the foot in a more level position thus promoting a more midfoot to forefoot strike which was my experience. Previously shoes in the 33 collection had varied offsets between 6mm and 10mm.

  • 75 / 100 by Salt Marsh Running • Jason Saltmarsh • Level 4 expert

The shoe is definitely not good in the slush and snow, but if was great on the open roads.
