That's great yeah. You know when I put the shoe on I was going up that granite slab, I felt confident. i never felt like I was gonna slip. Really traction was the key story to this shoe.

  • 96 / 100 | Running Warehouse | | Level 1 expert

The traction on the shoe was amazing. The MgeGrip rubber was really sticky even on bare rock and then that climbing zone really gave me confidence when I was edging on those small holes.

  • 96 / 100 | Road Trail Run | | Level 5 expert

Traction and underfoot (and upper) protection here is as good as it gets, allowing for very confidence inspiring movement over the rockiest, roughest terrain, on or off trail, dry or wet.

  • 75 / 100 | Running Warehouse | | Level 4 expert

The Norvan VT 2 offers a specialized mountain running option that excels at scrambling. This shoe offered the protection, traction, and lockdown I needed to climb and descend through some of the rockiest trails.

  • 90 / 100 | Running Warehouse | | Level 3 expert

We ran, climbed, and scrambled all over loose scree and steep granite slabs in the Norvan VT 2s, and I felt like they were the perfect shoes for adventuring in the mountains.

  • 90 / 100 | Running Warehouse | | Level 2 expert

I think that this shoe's "VT" name is fitting. It did a great job assisting me in my vertical efforts and will likely be my go-to for long runs where elevation gain is the goal. The weight was a bit more noticeable than I'd like, so I probably won't be racing in these, but they are perfect for adventuring.

  • The Arc'teryx Norvan VT 2 is a trail running shoe that is strategically designed to perform well on mountainous and steep terrains. It utilizes a redesigned upper section to promote breathability. The primary purpose of this is to provide added comfort, as well. Along with the traditional lacing system is the fused lace pocket. This feature delivers a snugger fit and holds the laces in places.
  • With the utilization of a more protective and cushioned midsole compound, a smoother heel-to-toe transition is enjoyed by the runner.
  • It utilizes the updated outsole pattern. This is essential in providing better traction when tackling challenging terrains.

In comparison to the Merrell Trail Glove 5, which uses the Vibram TC5+, the Arc'teryx Norvan VT 2 employs the Vibram MegaGrip rubber compound. This material is described to be durable. The primary goal of this is to provide the grip needed by the user during the running session.

Along with the Vibram MegaGrip rubber is the Climbing zone. This feature is located in the forefoot area. It is specifically designed to enhance friction and improve edging.

Utilized in crafting the shoe is the EVA/Polyolefin midsole. This material is composed of a 15% polyolefin blend, and 85% compressed EVA that effectively absorbs shock and vibration during the running activity. As a result, optimal underfoot experience and long-lasting comfort are enjoyed by the runner.

Integrated into the shoe is the 0.7-mm mid-forefoot TPU film. This component of the running footwear aims to provide better underfoot protection. This is vital in protecting the foot from hazardous debris and rocks that can be found on the trails.

Featured in the Norvan VT 2 is the 4-mm OrthoLite 3D molded insert. This material is described to be thick in nature that resists bacteria and provides comfort directly beneath the foot.

Used in making the running shoe is the breathable mesh upper. This component of the shoe aims to deliver a healthier and fresher foot environment. This is significant in keeping the foot cool and dry at all times.

Featured in the Arc'teryx Norvan VT 2 is the forward eyelet placement. This is vital in creating a more confident and secure fit during the running session.

Used in the shoe is the TPU protection. This lies in the upper area to provide abrasion resistance.

Like the TPU protection, the toe cap is also used in crafting the shoe. This material is focused on delivering additional protection and abrasion resistance during the run.

With the utilization of the integrated tongue pocket, the untying of the laces is prevented. As a result, the runner is able to start and finish the run without worrying about any lace snagging.
