Updates to Arc'teryx Norvan SL GTX

The Arc'teryx Norvan SL GTX is a packable trail running shoe that is designed to provide an incredibly lightweight and comfortable running experience. It is the waterproof version of the Arc'teryx Norvan SL

The breathable upper unit of this running shoe features the Gore-Tex® fabric, a waterproof material that offers excellent protection against any weather condition.

A specially developed EVA foam is integrated into the midsole section of this lightweight running shoe. This material is intended to provide adequate support and shock absorption for a smoother ride.

In the outsole unit of the shoe is the Vibram® MegaGrip™ technology. This outsole material is made out of a high-performance rubber compound that delivers maximum grip on dry or wet surfaces. It also promotes durability.

Size and fit

The Norvan SL GTX utilizes the Gore-Tex® Invisible Fit technology to provide a more comfortable and snugger fit. The shoe also features the lace-up system to allow the runner to easily adjust the tightness around the shoe.

This running companion follows the standard shoe measurement to meet the usual choices of consumers when it comes to sizing. However, it is advisable to fit the shoe first or check the user feedback about sizing to ensure a perfect fit.

The Norvan SL GTX utilizes the Vibram® MegaGrip™ technology that offers optimal traction and performance. This outsole material is composed of a Megagrip rubber compound. It uses Litebase technology to reduce the weight of the rubber. The outsole is designed not only to ensure traction across wet or dry trails but also to reduce the shoe’s weight.

The Vibram® MegaGrip™ technology is also featured in other popular running shoes like the Altra Olympus 3.0 and Hoka One One Speedgoat 3

A TPU plate is placed beneath the forefoot for supreme protection against the rugged terrain. This component is lightweight yet highly durable.

A super light ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) foam is incorporated in the midsole unit of the Norvan SL GTX. The foam midsole is designed explicitly for this neutral running shoe to give the necessary amount of cushioning for trail running needs.

This running gear also includes an OrthoLite™ 3D molded insert that offers a combination of protection and comfort. It helps amplify the shoe’s cushioning system and air circulation.

The Arc'teryx Norvan SL GTX features the TPU mesh upper that can be easily folded down for compact packability. The TPU film is incredibly flexible and abrasion-resistant, protecting the shoe from tear and wear.

To offer a combination of style and comfort, the designers used the Gore-Tex® Invisible Fit Technology that makes the upper unit extremely lightweight, flexible, and breathable.

The open mesh upper permits for continuous airflow, allowing the moisture or water to dry quickly if the shoe is immersed in water. It also keeps the foot dry and comfortable even in wet conditions.

Designers also incorporated a taller collar to provide superior support and help keep the debris from getting inside the shoe. The collar has a clip-in point integrated at the heel, which allows for easy attachment to a pack or harness.

For a more customized fit, the Norvan SL GTX uses the traditional lacing system.
