Profile of the Air Jordan 19 Low

Senior footwear designer Tate Kuerbis led a team of Jordan Brand designers and created one of the lightest and most supportive Air Jordans to date. The group included famed designers such as Wilson Smith, Jason Mayden, Suzette Henri, and Josh Heard. The result of their joint effort is a basketball shoe that boasts the ultimate combination of style and performance.

The Air Jordan XIX Low takes after the Air Jordan 19 SE’s silhouette. Cut down to the basics; these low-top basketball shoes feature a full-length Air-sole unit for comfort and a modified herringbone traction pattern for improved on-court grip.

Performance

Cushion. Unlike the original Air Jordan 19 mid, the low-top model does not feature a double-stacked Nike Zoom Air unit. Instead, the Air Jordan XIX Low features a full-length Air-sole unit encased by a thick Phylon midsole. This cushioning setup is designed to offer enhanced support and long-lasting comfort.

These Air Jordan basketball shoes are also equipped with a midfoot support shank for increased stability and torsional rigidity.

Traction. The Air Jordan 19 Low’s outsole is similar to the mid and SE models. It features a modified herringbone traction pattern for increased grip on the hardwood. The heel and forefoot outriggers also feature flex grooves for added flexibility.

Fit

Length and Width. The Air Jordan XIX Low reportedly runs true to size. When ordering, remember to get your actual shoe size.

Lockdown. Just like the SE version, the Air Jordan 19 Low does not come with a black-mamba inspired shroud. These Air Jordan basketball shoes just feature a quick lace system that offers an adjustable fit.

Material

The Air Jordan 19 Low’s upper is predominantly constructed with nubuck leather. Some colorways feature patent leather on the toe and heel while others have a durabuck material.

Style

The Air Jordan 19 Low is more of a lifestyle model because of its stripped-down tech and low-cut silhouette. Reminiscent of the iconic Air Jordan 3, an elephant print design around the toe box is seen in a couple of OG colorways.
