Adidas ZX Flux Farm History
The ZX Series has been an essential part of Adidas' shoe collection since the 80s. The release of the line's first model, ZX 500 in 1984 changed people's perception of running shoes by injecting a more fashionable approach into the running world. This stylish update attracted non-runner consumers too, which in turn made the shoe more popular among lifestyle sneaker fans.
While the ZX Series successfully acquainted the running world with more stylish footwear, it did this without sacrificing comfort and support and, in fact, improved on it. The ZX was the first to introduce cutting-edge technology for runners during its time by creating a collection of shoes that would cover all types of runners: from all-terrain to roadrunners and from joggers to marathon competitors. Adidas ushered in breakthrough devices in sports and running such as Torsion and Soft Cell technologies.
Fast-forward to a few years, the brand added a new shoe model to the ZX Family and dubbed it the ZX Flux. The shoe served as an homage to a previous model – the now classic ZX 800. The ZX Flux went back to basics by donning a more minimal and modern design. The shoe utilized contemporary technology and added prints and patterns in a never-before-seen fashion.
The ZX Flux is a fusion of modern technology and everything great in the vintage ZX. It is an evolution of the former into a more up-to-date version. The ZX Flux is a favorite amongst collaborators for its minimal and classic design. It is perceived as a blank canvas for different reimaginings and endless iterations.
One of its offspring is the Adidas ZX Flux Farm. The shoe is a collaboration with a Brazilian textile company called The FARM. It is available in various fashionable prints that gave a completely different appeal to the ZX Flux.
