Bottom line

Continuing the successful lineage of the Adidas’ Yung franchise, the Adidas Yung-96 Chasm Trail trainers of the Adidas Originals brings back the fearless style of the ‘90s with a more modernized design inspired by outdoor exploration. Moreover, top-quality materials are utilized providing sufficient durability and all-day comfort.

It is still considered as a superb pair despite having some tweaks to them. Regardless of the sneaker’s chic appeal, its affordable price point makes it a practical choice.

Facts

The Yung-96 Chasm Trail is available in unisex sizing. Purchasers should refer to men’s sizing. As for the women, going a full-size down is recommended.

These sneak’s mesh and nubuck uppers provide a breathable feel and the midsoles deliver comfort in areas where it is needed. With secure lace-up fastening, one can adjust them to a more customized fit.

Inspired by the '90s, the Yung-96 Chasm Trail sneakers bring retro looks to the sneaker rotation. Composed of durable suede overlays and breathable mesh underlays, these chunky sneakers have a more rugged look than its predecessors. The wavy detailing in the upper is inspired by the '99 Adidas Chasm that brings out a more old-fashioned vibe.

This iteration is dressed in a number of colorways, these are the Raw Khaki, Vapour Pink, Legend Ink, and Hi-Res Coral. The Raw Khaki mesh and suede upper comes in a Solar Red color scheme for the wavy pattern while the Vapour Pink colorway has Hi-Res Yellow accents.

Moreover, the Legend Ink colorway has minimal scarlet detailing and the Hi-Res Coral’s yellow-colored outsoles give it a pop. Being a chunky, retro-inspired, vibrant-colored shoe, this exudes street style vibes. These are best styled with cuffed joggers, cropped denim, or even a pair of shorts that are topped with oversized shirts, plain, relaxed tees or hoodies, and denim jackets to complete one’s outfit.

Although a bit similar to the previous model, this addition to the Yung-96 family is trail-inspired and is built with a rugged and durable upper that has reflective 3M details and Durable Water-Repellent (DWR) coating. The shoe is embedded with Adidas’ signature Torsion System between the heel and forefoot for a more stable ride.

Furthermore, the chunky yet lightweight EVA midsole provides for an easy, all-day cushioning. These sneakers are finished with a heavy-duty rubber outsole, which is rippled and grippy, for superior multi-surface traction.

In August 1949, Adolf “Adi’ Dassler named his new company Adidas (originally it was in lowercase) after his nickname Adi and his last name Dassler. So Adi Dassler became Adidas and registered the “Adi Dassler Adidas Sportschuhfabrik”. He then set to work with 47 employees in the small town of Herzogenaurach. In the same year, he registered a shoe that included the registration of the soon-to-become-famous Adidas 3-Stripes. Made famous in the victory of the German team in the World Cup, the “miracle of Berlin” and Jesse Owen’s winning gold medals, the Three-Stripe brand has become globally known.

Being in the sneaker scene since the ‘50s, Adidas has released many lines and franchises within its brand. One of these is the Adidas Originals Yung line that had an interesting journey since its first debut. As part of the Yung creations, the Yung-96 Chasm Trail offers a much simpler alternative to the Yung-1 but takes on more playful and vibrant hues. Debuted in September 2019, the new silhouette is equipped for the clamorous trails.

  • The shoes come with a cushioned heel collar for ultimate comfort.
  • This pair’s shaft measures approximately low-top from arch.
  • One can see the vibrant-colored netting, a logo window, and Originals branding on the heels.
  • An angled 3-Stripes to the sidewalls and the signature Adidas branding complete the overall look.
