Adidas Tubular Instinct JC History
Adidas released in 1993 with the ambition of introducing a more innovative basketball sneaker. Deemed to be way ahead of its time, sneaker fans were not quite ready yet to deviate from the norm and didn't take the Tubular well. Consequently, Adidas was forced to put the Tubular in its archives.
Some years later, the brand's VP named Nic Galway went to the Adidas archives to find inspiration for new models, and he came across the Tubular. He saw the kick's potential and decided to bring it back in an all-new and improved silhouette and dubbed it the "Tubular Runner." Galway said that the Tubular Runner is the product of half a decade of research and that the designers wanted to create a shoe that married sports and style.
Since its release, the Tubular Runner received countless reinterpretations from various personalities, designers, and artists. A-list celebrities were also seen rocking a pair, which helped the pair's popularity to skyrocket. Famous figures like Justin Bieber, Kendall Jenner, and A$AP Rocky were some of the celebrities seen wearing the Tubular in public.
One of the shoe models in the vast Tubular range is the Adidas Tubular Instinct JC, which features a jacquard upper with white noise pattern on it. The kick has a less prominent outsole tubing design when compared to the original Tubular outsole.
