Adidas Tubular Defiant Primeknit History

Adidas Tubular Defiant Primeknit has proven to be a great addition to the Tubular project that was headed by VP of Global Design Nic Galway, who is also the person behind the Y-3 Qasa.

In the 1990s, the Original Tubular trainer was released. Although innovative and ahead of its time, the technology required to support the shoe’s design was not yet available during that period. Today’s technology, however, has allowed the people behind Adidas to push their boundaries in order to provide the masses with striking and dynamic silhouettes seen in the Tubular collection’s products.

Over the years, Adidas Tubular has undergone many transformations. Among the most coveted are the Tubular X, the Tubular Shadow and the Tubular Doom.

Adidas Tubular Defiant Primeknit Style

The single-piece Primeknit upper of this shoe, which displays an abstract digital-like pattern across the forefoot, gives this kicks its unique, modern and fashion-forward look that is praised by many Adidas fans around the globe. This shoe is offered in three colorways namely black with hints of white, royal blue with hints of light gray, and the newest release is called the “Sun Glow”, which has a pinkish orange shade.

The Adidas Tubular Defiant Primeknit is a sport and street-ready lifestyle shoe that goes well with a cute shirt dress or a pair of sweatpants or jeans.

Fit & Sizing

The Tubular Defiant Primeknit, which is exclusively made for women, generally runs true to its size. This sneaker is offered in medium width with sizes ranging from 5-11.

Notable Features

This shoe is popular for its iconic white Tubular outsole. The EVA outsole’s design was inspired by the inner tubing of car tires and its threads. It gives the kicks enhanced traction, grip and durability.

In addition to its interesting looking outsole, the Adidas Tubular Defiant Primeknit is also recognized for its adaptable two-tone bootie-like upper.

Additional Info

  • The heel of the shoe measures around 1.3 inches.
  • With a primeknit upper, the shoe somehow resembles the Adidas NMD City Sock.
  • Other distinguishable features are the suede and neoprene trim found in the heel counter as well as the tongue label pull tab.
  • Aside from the shoe’s sock-like construction, the shoe also comes with laces for a more secure fit.
