Updates to Adidas Terrex AX2R Mid GTX

  • Adidas designers went with a fusion of versatile, contemporary look and multi-functional use in creating the Terrex AX2R Mid GTX boot. Forming the outer part of the upper are woven synthetic textile, technical mesh and synthetic overlays. All components render the upper lightweight. The upper is also waterproof and breathable because of the Gore-Tex lining.
  • This mid-cut boot features the Adiprene technology. It is embedded in the rear section of the midsole. This Adidas innovation protects the heel upon impact.
  • The Terrex AX2R Mid GTX boot also has the Traxion outsole. The design of this component is based on cleats. It provides multi-direction traction.

Adidas Terrex AX2R Mid GTX size and fit

The Adidas Terrex AX2R Mid GTX caters to both genders and is available in standard sizes.  A traditional lace-up closure delivers a snug fit. Its mid-cut construction provides sufficient ankle support and stability. The padded tongue and collar also provide additional comfort. Men’s width profile is D – Medium while women’s width is B – Medium. It fairly runs true to size.

The Terrex AX2R Mid GTX boot from Adidas grants optimal grip through its Traxion outsole. This rubber component offers traction in all directions and lets the user traverse different terrain types, including slippery and wet surfaces. The systematically organized lug pattern also contributes to ground grip through its self-cleaning abilities, ultimately preventing slippage.

The midsole part comprises of Adiprene which is found in the heel; the sockliner which is responsible for fit and comfort; and a low-profile EVA midsole for cushioning. Adiprene is in charge of shock absorption upon impact in the heel area. The EVA midsole delivers underfoot cushioning to the rest of the areas not covered by Adiprene. Adidas claims that its service life is long term. Finally, the sockliner grants additional underfoot comfort to the user.

The upper unit features technical mesh that allows ample airflow. It is then supported by overlays to give form to the boot and lock down the foot. The upper is also lined with Gore-Tex Extended Comfort membrane–a breathable and waterproof layer that keeps the foot dry for all-day comfort. This non-insulated construction from Gore-Tex acts by letting perspiration escape and denying the penetration of water from the outside.

This mid-cut designed boot is made to provide extra stability throughout the ankle joint, especially when encountering uneven terrain. Its profoundly padded collar and tongue also give comfort.

A protective toe rand prevents abrasions and shields the toe when it accidentally knocks on ground obstacles. Its traditional lace-up closure comprises of fabric webbed eyelets with a pair of grommets at the top. The handy pull lift also allows smooth on and off.
