7 reasons to buy

  • Adidas introduces for the first time in the Glide series the Boost midsole, which is making waves for its incredibly responsive cushioning.

  • The Boost midsole retains its amazing cushioning regardless of weather.

  • The Goretex membrane works really well in the Glide 6 GTX.

  • Loyal fans of the Glide series noticed a more efficient and effortless gait cycle in the Supernova Glide 6 GTX.

  • Comfort comes as the second best thing in this shoe, after cushioning, according to several runners.

  • An upper fit that hugs the foot like a glove gets much love from a handful of testers.

  • The arch support is reliable without coming up too high on the medial side based on the comments of several users.

3 reasons not to buy

  • The Adidas Glide 6 GTX is heavy.

  • Some runners call it clunky.

  • Lack of flexibility often comes up in a couple of reviews.

Bottom line

The Boost midsole singularly gave the Supernova Glide line a shot in the arm. Despite the significant weight, the Glide 6 GTX impressed a large majority of runners because of its amazing cushioning and durability. Overall, this is a shoe that loves the challenges of inclement weather and delivers arch support required for heavy training or the occasional middle distance running.

World wide, Supernova Glide 6 GTX is in the bottom 20% most popular running shoes. The brand, Adidas, is the 3rd most popular.

Updates to Supernova Glide 6 GTX

The 6th version of the Adidas Supernova Glide GTX gives soft yet sure underfoot support, as well as an upper coverage that’s very protective against the element. Running under many types of weather conditions becomes much easier and more accessible because of the efficacy and high quality service of this running shoe.

The upper unit makes use of high quality textiles to form the shape of the cover. These materials do not lose integrity easily, so they stay intact and effective, even after many uses. A waterproof membrane makes sure that water infiltration is virtually kept at bay. It’s a comfortable upper, with a soft and flexible disposition that lasts.

Lightweight cushioning is afforded by a comfortable and flexible underfoot platform. Made from a responsive yet durable foam, this mid-sole layer gives the runner a smooth ride. The boost™ technology offers energy-returning properties to make sure that the runner gets the forward boost needed for a faster and more effective performance.

A durable rubber material pretty much covers most of the important surfaces of the outsole unit. It’s a protective layer that makes sure the platform doesn’t succumb to damage brought about by wear and abrasion.

Supernova Glide 6 GTX size and fit

The Adidas Supernova Glide 6 GTX has a standard running shoe length. It is available in sizes that adhere to the regular measurements for men and women. The available width is medium, so it can accommodate those with a medium-sized foot. The semi-curved shape of this shoe allows runners to acclimate well to it when wearing it.

The outsole unit uses Continental™ Rubber. It offers high level grip on many types of surfaces and surface conditions. Now, the runner will be able to run on surfaces that are dry and wet, therefore providing optimal control when running, as well as preventing slippage.

The immediate underfoot platform of the Adidas Supernova Glide 6 GTX uses a soft cushioning foam that delivers responsiveness and comfort when running. The runner also gets some springiness to each step, so that lifting and landing the foot is well-supported all throughout the gait cycle.

The boost™ foam is a mid-sole unit that came from thousands of energy capsules that are made from Thermoplastic polyurethane. It gives a soft and bouncy ride that’s also responsible for providing energy returns to the wearer for a much more efficient and enabled running stride.

The TORSION® SYSTEM is a unit in the mid-foot sections that maintains the structural integrity of that area of the shoe. It gives some mild support to the arches, so that the running performance remains easy and well-supported.

Durable textiles make up the upper unit of this running shoe. These materials are soft yet resilient against damage or tearing. A seamless mesh material is placed in the forefoot area. When combined, these fabrics give the runner a comfortable and breathable coverage.

The overlay system has been stitched onto the upper unit. These overlays are made from synthetic materials and they’re also very durable. They work with the lacing system to give the wearer a snug yet customizable fit.

Air mesh serves as the inner lining of the Adidas Supernova Glide GTX 6. It maintains an irritation-free and well-ventilated interior environment that’s comfortable to the skin.

The GORE-TEX® membrane is a waterproof layer that makes sure water doesn’t infiltrate the shoe and its parts. It keeps a dry yet breathable environment in which to rest the foot.
