- Neutral running shoes are some of the most popular products in the athletic apparel industry. In fact, many consumers choose this type of performance shoe because it is versatile and appealing to behold. The Adidas Speedfactory AM4ATL aims to embody such expectations because it was designed to be unique and highly agreeable to consumers. The façade is made up of a seamless knit and fused patches that are strategically applied with the use of digital foot-mapping.
- Boost™ is one of the most innovative cushioning units in the running shoe industry. This full-length piece is designed to protect against impact shock while also energizing the toe-off. A torsion bar gives it more heft and form. On the outsole is a rubber compound with a grid-like design that shields the platform and provides traction.
The Adidas Speedfactory AM4ATL was designed to be true to size. Consumers can utilize their typical sizing expectations when opting for this running shoe. However, it is worth noting that there have been complaints about a bigger-than-usual sizing scheme that was difficult to remedy because of a lack of half-size options. It would be safe to try on the shoe first to attain a desirable in-shoe feel.
Widthwise, the available option is D – Medium. This shoe was constructed using men’s foot dimensions.
A semi-curved shape allows the shoe to offer a wrap that agrees with the natural outline and structure of the human foot.
A rubber compound is used for the outsole unit of the Adidas Speedfactory AM4ATL. This layer covers the entire midsole, shielding it from the abrasive nature of the surfaces and the debilitating effects of continued use.
Boxlike nodes pockmark the surface of the external pad. These non-prominent patterns are designed to heighten the gripping capability of the rubber, ensuring precise movements over the asphalt.
The spaces between each traction node and the shallow trenches that separate them are the elements that cause the sole to be flexible. The platform’s capacity to follow the natural movements of the foot as it transitions through the gait cycle would determine the perception of enjoyable functionality and reliable design.
The midsole unit of the Adidas Speedfactory AM4ATL is made up of the boost™, a technology that’s derived from the amalgamation of thousands of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) pellets. The resulting piece provides a responsive underfoot experience, shielding the foot from impact shock during the landing phase, then energizing the toe-off with a bouncy ride. Boost™ is a licensed feature that’s used in many Adidas shoes, including the ever-popular Ultra Boost.
The SPEEDFACTORY torsion bar is a thermoplastic reinforcement in the midfoot that bolsters the structural integrity of the boost™ foam. This feature is also meant to ease the tension on the tendons and muscles of the underfoot, allowing them to relax while it mimics the exertion that they do to enervate the process of taking each step.
A thin insole is placed on top of the primary cushioning system. This add-on brings a soft surface for the underside of the foot. It can be removed or replaced with a different insert if the wearer chooses to do so.
The upper unit of the Adidas Speedfactory AM4ATL uses a knitted cover system. This soft and stretchy fabric embraces the outline of the foot, securing it while also allowing it to move naturally with each step. Breathing holes permit air to enter the interior compartment, thus maintaining a cool and dry environment for the runner to enjoy.
Bonded overlays grace the sides and the heel. These SPEEDFACTORY patches have been strategically placed using digital data of the human foot. The sides and the instep are the focal points as they are the sections that are likely to suffer from instability. Having overlays help the upper unit to hold the foot in place and avert wobbling.
The no-sew material application brings a non-irritating wrap that benefits the in-shoe experience of the foot. The prevention of hot-spots and chafing may improve the quality of the run.
