The Adidas Solar Ride is a budget-friendly option to the Solar line up of trainers.
I really don’t have much good or bad to say about this shoe, so it’s hard to break it down. It’s a budget-friendly adidas model for a casual runner or walker.
- The Solar Ride is a running shoe that’s designed for those who enjoy sharp and eye-catching looks on their performance footwear. The upper unit uses Forgedmesh, a stretchy and highly flexible material that is commonly used in Adidas’ other flagship series, the AlphaBounce. Printed overlays on the sides and thermoplastic clips on the heel are elements that help to steady the foot.
- Offering cushioning is the full-length Bounce midsole, a lightweight and flexible piece that is known for its versatility and durability. Raised portions on the sides assist the foot when it comes to maintaining steadiness and security. Covering the midsole is ADIWEAR, a rubber compound that is resistant to abrasion.
The Adidas Solar Ride was designed using the standard measurements. When it comes to size, runners are welcome to get a pair using their usual sizing expectations. It is worth noting that to achieve a pleasant in-shoe experience, one should try on the shoe first or check out some online user reviews.
Widthwise, the men’s version is available in D – Medium; the women’s iteration as the B – Medium variant. Those with narrow and medium foot dimensions are the ones who are likely going to enjoy this Adidas running shoe.
The outsole unit of the Adidas Solar Ride is made up of the ADIWEAR compound, which can withstand the damaging nature of the surfaces. It covers the entire base of the midsole foam. The full-surface coverage also means that traction would be precise and all-present.
Flexibility is given by a slew of shallow grooves. These trenches essentially make the platform more adherent to the natural bending capacity of the foot.
The midsole unit of the Adidas Solar Ride is made up of Bounce, a lightweight yet durable material that offers bouncy steps. Its reactive nature allows it to absorb impact shock during the landing phase then transfer the energy of that motion to the foot as it gears itself for the toe-off.
A lightly cushioned insole is placed right above the main cushioning unit. It adds a bit more oomph to the underfoot experience. It can be taken out or replaced with a new one if the runner chooses to do so.
The Adidas Solar Ride’s upper unit is made of Forgedmesh, a cloth-like material that has stretchy fibers twined in areas that are most likely going to be subjected to flexing. Such a configuration allows the foot to acclimatize well to the in-shoe chamber and move naturally through the gait cycle.
Breathability is given by the ventilation holes that pockmark the fabric. Air goes through these slits, maintaining a cool and dry interior for the foot to enjoy. Breathable uppers are the highlights of Adidas shoes like the Solar Ride and the Ultra Boost.
Synthetic prints serve as the overlay system of this neutral running shoe. These add-ons bolster the aesthetics and help the lacing system when it comes to securing the foot in place.
A traditional lacing system graces the instep. Semi-round shoelaces snake through overlay-reinforced eyelets, encompassing the entire bridge of the upper unit. The tightness or looseness of the fit is manipulated by this fit-adjustment method.
The heel part of the silhouette has thermoplastic clips. These sidewalls hold the back of the foot in place and prevent it from wobbling or exiting the interior compartment unexpectedly.
