Adidas Raleigh Mid History
If sneakers were a family, the Adidas Raleigh Mid would have the Centennial and Decade as its parents and the Rivalry and Conductor as its relatives. These kicks carry most of its design traits from its “parents” and some were gotten from its “relatives.”
The Adidas Centennial was initially released in 1985. It was created in France with suede and leather editions. The leather model had white/burgundy, white/green, white/natural and white/red as its colorways. On the other hand, the suede colorways include black, brown, burgundy, gray and navy. Its toe box had a unique shape that was never used in previous Adidas basketball shoes. There were also other eye-catching features that made it distinctive.
In the same year, the Adidas Decade was also launched. There were various colorways produced for this silhouette. Although the company halted its production after a year, the Decade made its comeback in 2003 with a new outsole and some stunning colorways.
Like the Centennial and the Decade, the Rivalry and the Conductor were also basketball shoes released in the 80s.
Adidas Raleigh Mid Style
The Adidas Raleigh Mid carries the qualities of old-school basketball shoes. Brought to the new generation of sneaker wearers, these kicks now embody a contemporary design. They are a great throwback to the 80s.
The Raleigh Mid can complement most attire. The pair can be worn with dresses and looks great with skinny jeans and leggings.
Fit & Sizing
The Adidas Raleigh Mid is sold both as a men and women’s shoe. It is available in 6.5 to 13 in men’s sizing and 6 to 11 in women’s sizing. Its basketball shoe origins equip the foot with excellent hold and support. The lace closure allows a snug fit for the foot while the mid-cut construction is essential for those who will actually take this shoe on the court.
The very apparent Adidas logo on both sides of the shoe immediately grab the attention of anyone who looks at the Adidas Raleigh Mid. Emblazoned across the midfoot, it works both as a catchy fashion statement as well as a nice hold and support around this area. The basketball DNA of this sneaker rightly speaks partially because of these significant overlays.
Adidas uses a mid-top version in this shoe for more structure. This attracts the attention of potential buyers as it allows the shoe to work like its intended origins.
- The Adidas Raleigh Mid has a textile lining that provides comfort.
