Summary

We spent 5.8 hours reading reviews from experts and users. In summary, this is what runners think:

6 reasons to buy

  • A mix of stretchable fabrics and synthetic suede make up the appealing upper unit of the Pure Boost R.
  • An elastic band goes from the mid-foot to the heel, locking the foot in place and keeping it snug inside the shoe.
  • Elastic laces make the fit more agreeable to the preferences of the wearer.
  • The boost™ mid-sole foam gives energy to the runner while also absorbing shock during the striking phase.
  • Blown rubber protects the shoe from wear while also giving additional cushioning to the foot.
  • The moderate weight gives freedom for the foot to move and not let the runner feel weighed down.

3 reasons not to buy

  • Stitched-on Adidas logo on the tongue may irritate the skin of the wearer.
  • The tongue doesn’t have padding, which may cause some irritation.
  • The one-piece tongue-and-collar has inconsistent stitching, so the fabric might come off after frequent use.

Bottom line

The Pure Boost R from Adidas is a lightweight running shoe that has an appealing look and a reliable set of systems to give that running experience a boost of energy and speed. This neutral shoe delivers comfort, flexibility, and a secure fit that’s going to make each running session much smoother and more agreeable to the natural motions of the foot.

They feel a little roomy but they are actually true to size. The upper material is so light, you cannot really feel it in your foot.

I like the way they fit. They have a wide toe box. My foot is pretty wide.

Updates to Adidas Pure Boost R

  • The Adidas Pure Boost R is a running shoe that has an appealing design and a set of components that make it more comfortable, secure and attuned to the natural movement of the wearer’s foot. Even the simple add-ons work in tandem with the various systems in order to provide a running experience that’s robust and reliable. Lightweight and flexible, this shoe is dependable on regular runs and casual activities.
  • The upper unit of this shoe uses a stretchable mesh in order to wrap around the foot securely, yet snugly. The fabrics are soft and smooth, so they’re going to prevent any skin irritation. Breathable support ensures a cool and dry interior foot-chamber. An elastic comfort band secures the mid-foot and the heel, effectively locking the foot in place.
  • The boost™ mid-sole technology is a compaction of TPU pellets that are responsible for the cushioning and impact protection the runner gets during each run. This full-length foam is flexible and it allows the foot to move naturally through the gait cycle, giving cushioning all throughout.
  • The grid-like outsole unit is made from a rubber material that’s very responsive. It is able to protect the boost™ from wear and abrasion, making sure that the TPU pellets won’t tear off. It also gives additional cushioning because of its soft and springy nature. Protection and cushioning is what this rubber material offers.

Adidas Pure Boost R size and fit

The Adidas Pure Boost R has a standard running shoe length. It comes in sizes that follow the regular measurements for women. The heel, mid-foot and forefoot sections have medium widths, so those with medium sized feet are the ones who are going to benefit more from this shoe. Its semi-curved shape adapts to the natural curvature of the human foot.

Outsole

The outsole unit uses blown rubber as the protective layer against wear and tear. This rubber material is strong and it is able stay resilient against the abrasive nature of asphalt or concrete. It is also responsible for the surface traction the runner gets during the running sessions.

The springy nature of blown rubber actually affords more cushioning to the foot. It’s a helpful way to add more impact protection with each foot strike. Forefoot lifts are more enabled and empowered because it is able to propel the runner forward.

Midsole

The boost™ technology is a mid-sole foam that’s made from thousands of TPU pellets that have been combined to form a single unit. This full-length material offers durable, responsible and comfortable cushioning throughout the stride, keeping the foot safe from impact shock and discomfort. It also returns energy to the wearer, keeping them performing longer.

Upper

The two-tone tricot stretch mesh is a high quality material that’s very pliable and agreeable to the shape and motion of the wearer’s foot. It’s soft and comfortable on the skin, so it won’t cause any irritation. Air is even encouraged to go in the shoe to keep the foot cool and dry.

Stretching from the mid-foot to the heel is an elastic comfort band. This material helps in keeping the foot in place, effectively securing the heel in a snug wrap. It’s not too tight, and it helps when it comes to preventing accidental shoe removal or wobbliness of the foot.

A customizable fit is adjusted by elastic shoe laces. Primarily focusing on the mid-foot area of the
Adidas Pure Boost R, these laces assist the upper unit in tightening around the foot for a fit that’s tuned to the preference of the wearer.
