The Adidas Pharrell Williams BBC Hu NMD relatively runs true to size and fits those with narrow to medium sized feet. Those with wide feet are advised to get a pair of sneakers that is half to a full size bigger for a comfortable wearing experience. The low-top sneaker comes with a customizable rope lace-up system courtesy of a midfoot cage that holds the rope laces together.  The Three Stripes made these shoes available for men in US full and half-sizes for exact fitting.

Pharrell William’s take on several Adidas Originals silhouettes has set the trend for hypebeasts and sneakerheads wanting more personality and character on their footwear. The Adidas Pharrell Williams BBC Hu NMD continues this trend of East African inspired colorways and close attention to details.  Stylists call the release as the Heart/Mind edition of the bestselling Adidas NMD shoe with Pharrell’s aesthetic inputs of embroidered “HEART” and “MIND” alternate on each shoe. The Adidas Pharrell Williams BBC Hu NMD for Fall 2018 first came out with a general release colorway comprising the White, Red, Navy, and Yellow tones in the upper that rests on top of a white Boost midsole and a black trail rubber outsole.

The second Heart/Mind Edition colorway is an exclusive release that only came out in the Billionaire Boys Club stores. The Pink/Purple colorway comes in a swirled pattern with the bold text of embroidered Japanese characters in the NMD upper that rests on top of a Boost midsole and a purple trail rubber outsole.  This particular colorway commands a higher price among resellers.

With the bold colorways of this particular NMD iteration, many stylists suggest wearing the Adidas Pharrell Williams BBC Hu NMD with similarly colored shirts, track jackets, and hoodies like the BBC apparel that came out with the design. Wearers may also opt to wear the shoes with joggers, track pants, ankle-length jeans, and colored walking shorts for a fresh, colorful look. While this is a Fall 2018 sneaker release, many sneakerheads may also use this shoe during the spring and summer months as the bold colorways, and light materials in the upper make this shoe a comfortable sneaker to wear for extended shopping walks at the mall, exploring urban jungles while traveling, and for daily work commutes.

Most remarkable in the design features of the Adidas Pharrell Williams BBC Hu NMD is its use of Boost that offers responsive midsole cushioning and energy return. Also prominent among the highlights of Pharrell’s NMD iteration is the use of a TPU midfoot cage that allows for customized lacing. Many users were also in praise of the shoes’ unique colorways and BBC detailing that make it visually appealing and fashionable to wear.

Award-winning rapper, singer, and composer Pharrell Williams has long been designing sneakers and clothes that it is only but fitting that German footwear manufacturer Adidas signed him up for a collaboration. Since 2014, Williams signed a long-term partnership deal with the Three Stripes brand that has taken the sneaker world by storm with bold and often attention-grabbing kicks. Some of the iconic Adidas Originals silhouettes that were given stylish makeovers by Pharrell include the bestselling NMD, Superstar and Stan Smith.

  The Hu Line

While the Stan Smith and Superstar makeovers were unique collaborative designs, it was the Hu line of sneakers that featured East African colors of humanity that made a mark on silhouettes such as his tweak on the Stan Smith called the Tennis Hu and the Hu NMD sneakers.

Since 2016, the Adidas originals NMD Human Race collection has been in circulation with the first release featuring colorways inspired by Native Americans in North Dakota with the collection’s theme about people that are coming together and value understanding each other. Each of the color options had different callouts like “Human” and “Being,” “Human” and “Species” while some had “Hu” and “Race” placed in the upper.

In 2017, another very limited release was the Friends and Family edition of the Pharrell Williams x Adidas Human Race NMD shoes in magenta colorway with Chinese characters embroidered in the upper. The shoes are very limited that it is highly coveted by many collectors that some had already shelled out more than $5,000 just for the limited pair.
