Adidas Padiham SPZL History

Adidas formed the Spezial collection which is composed of unearthed silhouettes from the impressive library of the Three Stripes. Gary Aspden, one of the biggest fans of the brand, was tasked to curate the Spezial collection. The team was commissioned to dig the collection deeper to rediscover some vintage models that will suit the modern market.

For the 2018 Spezial collection, Aspden and his team used bright colors and graphics to create a collection based on the Ibiza parties in the White Isle during the late 80s, which euphoric music floods the parties. The Adidas Spezial team took various elements from its archive and made extraordinary models just in time for the incoming rave season.

One of the sneakers included in the collection is the Padiham SPZL based on the renowned classic soccer sneakers called Adidas Samba. Few traits from the Samba are reflected on the Padiham, such as the shape of the tongue, reinforcement on the front, and the pivot points on the rubber sole.

This kick was named after a town from Great Britain that holds the electronic music festival during the 80s. It has a natural leather upper with stripes and suede overlay on the heel. Meanwhile, the tongue is made of synthetic leather. Perforations can be seen in between the 3-Stripe and on the tongue for enhanced ventilation.

Adidas Padiham SPZL Style

The retro profile of the low-top Adidas Padiham SPZL delivers nostalgic feel to many buyers as it reminds them of the renowned soccer kicks from the 50s. This city style sneaker has slimmer toe box to enhance the stylish look that can match almost any laidback guise, such as jeans, joggers, shorts, and even with the activewear.

Fit & Sizing

The Adidas Padiham SPZL is a unisex model that is available in men's sizing from 4 to 12 US in regular width. Women are advised to take 1.5 down than their regular size for a more secure, cozy fit. Case in point is a lady's size 7 shoe size; she must grab size 5.5 in the men's size range for a snug fit. This sneaker runs true to size; thus, it is advised to grab one's regular size. The leather lining and the foam padded insole of the Padiham SPZL boost the overall comfortable feel. Meanwhile, the lace-up fastening system provides secure fit and sporty style.
