The Adidas Oyster Holdings Handball Top is a unisex shoe that’s exclusively available in men’s sizes. The men can choose from sizes 7 to 13 while the ladies need to go 1.5 sizes down from their standard shoe size. Generally, this sneaker fits true to size.

Retaining the original's silhouette, the Adidas Oyster Holdings Handball Top exudes the same retro, old-school vibe it became known for in the 80s. Deemed as a timeless and classic shoe, it is still considered as stylish after decades since its release. Moreover, its fun, new, and trendy colorways enhanced its overall look and provided a head-turning update.

The kick's relaxed yet vibrant style would look its best when paired with a neutral-colored outfit to make the shoe the main focal point of your look. Or you could also go for a monochromatic pastel-themed top and bottom to perfectly complement with the sneaker's colors and rock a statement ensemble.

Equipped with the original's recognizable silhouette, the Oyster Holdings Handball Top exudes the same aesthetic appeal that its predecessor was famous for. Its leather upper with nubuck overlays is now bathed in pastel hues lending a fresh, new look to an Adidas heritage shoe while a semi-translucent rubber outsole finishes everything off nicely with its see-through effect.

Released in 1987, the Adidas Handball Top was considered the best footwear for playing handball during that time. Handball is a German sport often played indoors, and athletes in that era opt for the Handball Top to aid them in the fast-paced game. The shoe's outsole provided excellent friction while its upper kept the athlete's feet in place during quick lateral movements, making it a superior performance indoor shoe.

The shoe was released in insufficient amounts, and its breathtaking aesthetic didn't help either as even non-athletes wanted to own a pair. Its elusiveness made it more popular in the streets and among sneaker enthusiasts that is why when Adidas decided to reissue the model in 2017, it almost instantly sold out.

This re-release reintroduced the Handball Top to a whole new generation and sparked interest among brands. One of the brands that put their twist on the classic retro is L.A-based lifestyle brand called Oyster Holdings. The Adidas Oyster Holdings Handball Top was released as part of a Soring 2018 collection that includes two colorways for the Handball Top and another two for another retro shoe. The LA brand describes the collection as premium sportswear and footwear built for travel.
