Extremely popular sneakers because of their price range, versatility when it comes to style, and freedom of movement. Almost everyone is guaranteed to have low-top sneakers in their shoe rotation.
Mid-top sneakers extend toward the ankle for a little more support and hold. These lie somewhere in the middle between low-top and high-top sneakers in terms of usage and popularity.
Sneakers with collars that go above the ankles for optimal hold and support are some of the most sought-after models in lifestyle shoes. Most of these shoes take their roots from basketball and have easily or fashionably crossed to mainstream wear.

Regardless of cut, it's always good to start with sneakers that can be worn for the daily grind, also called as "beaters" by some, as these are usually cheaper, easy to clean, and still gives that lifestyle "edge" before going for those wallet-thinning models.
Sneakers dominantly take their heritage from running, basketball, skate, tennis, training, hiking, and football. Still retaining a few of their performance-based technologies, these sneakers have transcended their respective niches and have successfully and popularly transformed themselves as staples of fashion footwear.

The Adidas Originals NMD_R1 Primeknit comes in men’s and women’s sizes. Its low-top, stylish design complements the lifestyle of individuals on the go. The one-piece Primeknit upper hugs the foot like a sock. This knitted material isn’t flimsy, either, and can withstand the prolonged time of use without losing its foot-hugging form.
The lacing feature on the NMD_R1 Primeknit casual slip-on shoe is more for aesthetics than function as it offers little effect on the total fit of the shoe. Since this kick is close-fitting, the opening may tend to be tight, but the pull tab on the heel help ankle up this shoe.
The full-length Boost unit in the midsole grants comfortable heel-to-forefoot transitioning. And due to its remarkable responsiveness, this shock-absorbing element returns as much energy in every step that consumers find it pleasurable to use this in multiple activities within the day.
Just like what it does for many Adidas models that use it, the Primeknit also endows this shoe with a neat silhouette that many fall in love with. Specially designed for people on the go, the Adidas NMD_R1 Primeknit sports a look that is always ready for the streets.
Adidas NMD_R1 PK ‘Triple White’
The timeless, modest, and clean composition of an all-white kick are some of the reasons why sneaker fanatics are drawn to add at least a pair of this style into their regular footwear rotation. The minimalist form of the Adidas NMD_R1 PK Triple White makes it appear fresh even when paired with denim skirts, frayed jeans, and military cargos.
In spite of its sporty mien, this NMD_R1 Primeknit white kick looks regal when combined with form-hugging dresses, tailored suit and pants, which is why you can slip on this style for smart casual events. You can also merge this with a wool top and a pair of straight pants or a long dress and a light-colored trench coat for that runway vibe.
Adidas NMD_R1 PK ‘Black’
The Adidas NMD_R1 Primeknit Core Black and Triple Black have the power to blend with different casual ensembles. Take a cue from the look and feel of the Y-3 profiles, and you’ll find out how this NMD version in black or black-white goes well with strings of activewear for men and women. Whether you pick a sporty or casual garb in white, black, or grey shades, the angular shape of this black shoe with an unadorned upper will smarten up your look.
Adidas NMD_R1 PK ‘Triple Grey’
The understated grey versions of the NMD_R1 Primeknit sneakers such as the Grey Glitch Camo with streaks of black and grey knitted pattern on the cover or the Grey/Pink, Grey/Core Black, and Vapor Grey complement with solid separates, joggers, track pants, even pin-rolled jeans, and narrow-fitted pants. The grey varieties also offer a softer tone than the monochromatic black iteration.
The women’s and men’s Adidas NMD_R1 Primeknit casual shoes are best known for its one-piece upper that is made of--what else?--Adidas Primeknit. It gives it that sleek look especially when worn, making it a stylishly versatile piece that goes well with almost any fashion ensemble.
The use of the Boost on the midsole leaves a positive effect on consumers. The Boost technology is made up of miniscule pieces of so-called “energy capsules” that appear like Tic Tac candies singularly and a slab of Styrofoam collectively.
The most appealing characteristic of the Boost cushioning system is its springiness that’s a lot responsive than the standard EVA midsole foams. This feature gives the Adidas NMD_R1 Primeknit a significant increase in responsiveness, making it a good workout shoe and a reliable pair for all-day walking.
Galway says that the name NMD is a codified reference to the nomad, which primarily is the intended master of the Adidas NMD. The shoe is indeed for one who never stays in one place for long, but for one who explores endlessly and therefore in need of a reliable partner that effectively supports their every stride.
How the Adidas NMD Came to Be
It was in December of 2015 when Adidas finally made available to the public an entirely new silhouette that became known as the Adidas NMD. One of its prominent features is the use of Primeknit on the upper, and the Boost on the midsole, which many argue as one of the most successful cushioning systems available in the market to date.
Speaking about his new creation, Adidas VP for Global Design Nic Galway says that the NMD is a graceful attempt at integrating the successes of the past, the idiosyncrasies of the present, and the optimism with which he and his team view the future. This new silhouette takes design cues from several Adidas classics such as the Micropacer, Rising Star, and the Boston Super.
But the Adidas NMD sneaker does not at all resemble any of those models, however, because it only carries over their most salient essences to make an entirely new look. The modern silhouette is made even more relevant by its being paired with the most effective Adidas technologies thus far.
Chains of Adidas NMD_R1 Primeknit Sneakers
The black Adidas NMD with white Boost bottom became a smash hit since it was launched. The Three Stripes banked on the popularity of this Adidas Originals sneaker and immediately reproduced strings of releases, such as the Adidas NMD Runner or R series, City Sock or CS series, and the XR.
The Adidas NMD_R1 Primeknit is one of the closest to the original in material, look, and feel. After the initial drop, the Three Stripes joined forces with the retail brand Footlocker and came up with the ‘Mesh Black.’ A series of colorway releases followed, some of which arrived in packs.
A little over 2016, the black/grey version was revealed. This was succeeded by the launch of the City Pack in three shades: Moscow Silver, Tokyo Blacks, and Sao Paolo Whites. The Geometric collection also appeared during the same period, in Red Camo, Black Camo, Red/Orange, White/Gray, Olive, and Blue patterns. The uni-colored Monochrome bundle in Triple White and Double Black were also dropped in blinding white Boost sole with white pegs.
Adidas went out of the usual color scheme when it presented the brightly kitted out Energy Aqua, Trace Orange, and Solar Pink pairs. Veering away from the typical linear and geometric color patterns on the NMD_R1 PK like the Sesame and Energy Ink colorways, this shoe is dressed up with a marble-like PK cover in Core Black/Aero Green.
- The inside of the Adidas NMD_R1 Primeknit is lined with breathable textile to ensure the wearer’s experience of maximum comfort.

- This Adidas Originals shoe has a molded heel patch.
- The Adidas NMD_R1 Primeknit has molded EVA midsole plugs for a unique aesthetic effect.
- A pull tab in the heel allows for easy slip on.
- Adidas varies the upper theme of the NMD_R1 Primeknit. A Japanese-inspired upper on one of the models is one of the most sought-after versions in the market.
- Another popular model uses a camo graphic in the upper.
- The regular version of the NMD_R1 uses a stretch mesh for those who want something other than the Primeknit variation.
- Adidas teamed up with the Germany-based chemical manufacturer Badische Anilin und Soda-Fabrik (BASF) to gain the exclusive rights to the Boost technology.
