Adidas NMD_R1 Japan Boost History

In 2015, Adidas introduced the Adidas NMD silhouette to the world, after the brand released the Yeezy Boost 350 and the Ultra Boost. Before anyone knew what the shoe looked like, the brand described it as a combination of the three sneakers from their archives. These were the Boston Super, the Micropacer, and the Rising Star.

It was through a New York City event that the Adidas NMD silhouette was first released and it rapidly went sold out. The shoe was also said to be one of the Adidas brand’s most talked about shoes.

The silhouette soon then was re-released with some bits of iteration and has even witnessed some collaborative releases. One of the variations of the silhouette was the Adidas NMD_R1 Japan Boost which showcases the full-length Boost cushioning and the Primeknit upper in a monochromatic colorway. The shoe comes in the “Triple Black” and “Triple White” colorways with Japanese characters displayed on the front midsole plug-ins and on the heel tab.

Adidas offers a unique Japanese script of “The Brand with the Three Stripes” that is found on the heel tab of the shoe. It makes the shoe one of the most remarkable and spectacular in the market today.

Though this low-top shoe is originally designed as a running type, it can function fully well as a casual shoe and can be used for fashion purposes. Along with a good pick for a set of top, one can wear the Adidas NMD_R1 Japan Boost with a pair of jogger jeans, cuffed fitted jeans, and skinny jeans. It would also look well with a pair of shorts.

Fit & Sizing

The Adidas NMD_R1 Japan Boost carries the same fit as the regular Adidas NMD_R1. Its Primeknit upper construction hugs the foot of the wearer in an adaptive and breathable support. This low-top show is only offered in men’s sizing with half sizes also being offered. The shoe is available in medium width.
