Since its inception in 1924, Adidas has turned itself into a household name and rightfully so. With all the things that it has done since the start, it comes as no surprise that the brand has become synonymous with high-quality products ranging from shoes to sportswear to bags and other accessories.

Founded by an avid football player named Adolph “Adi” Dassler, Adidas has come a long way to just being a brand that caters to the sport of football. Now it has a whole array of trainers and sneakers for any sport as well as everyday fashion. The Adidas Lucas Premiere x Helas is one great example of how diverse Adidas has become regarding the sneakers they release. These are Lucas Puig’s signature shoes created in collab with Helas Skateboarding.

Released in February 2018, the low-cut Adidas Lucas Premiere x Helas is the brainchild of both Adidas Skateboarding and French skate brand Hélas with Lucas Puig and his crew drawing up the shoes’ design. The design is heavily influenced by 90s anime which Lucas has made evident, giving a classic 80s tennis style sneaker new meaning in the skateboard world.

The 90s anime theme is noticeable in the pastel-hued colorway that the shoes sport.

How does a shoe steadily continue to reinvent and improve itself when it has already been hailed as an excellent sneaker? Simple. For Adidas and Helas, a new collaboration with impeccable yet subtle style is the way to go, and they achieve just that with the Adidas Lucas Premiere x Helas. With this sneaker, style reigns supreme.

Primarily a skate shoe, this collaborative work of art features a heavy-duty premium leather upper with the synthetic 3-Stripes. It’s appealing to skaters with the flexible vulc outsole allowing for an excellent board feel. With an Adidas x Helas lettering on the heel, this Lucas Puig signature model shoe is a sight to behold.

With its simplicity, the Adidas Lucas Premiere x Helas goes well with almost any active attire or streetwear outfit. The colorful yet subtle colorway it holds allows flexibility when it comes to outfit pairing.

When it comes to fit, the Adidas Lucas Premiere x Helas doesn’t fail. The padded section around the ankles gives it a good fit and support while the reinforced heel section helps to keep the foot in place. All this ensures a snug yet comfortable fit. The premium leather upper doesn’t constrict the foot and keeps the feet stable whether one is on the board or simply just walking around in these kicks.

The Adidas Lucas Premiere x Helas is available exclusively in men’s sizes ranging from 6 to 13 US. For ladies who want to wear a pair of these great shoes, they need to go 1.5 sizes down from their standard shoe size. But it is still strongly advised the fitting the pair in person is the best way to find the best fit.

With a Lucas Puig patch on the tongue, this pair of shoes has a strictly limited release from the highly regarded clothing company Helas and Adidas Skateboarding. It is a collaboration that has a slew of notable features to get any sneakerhead pumped out about it.

It holds the style of an 80s tennis shoe and has an early 90s manga-inspired artwork for the insole with a woven tongue and quarter pane that offers increased breathability, a great bonus for most wearers. Staying true to Adidas, the Adidas Lucas Premiere x Helas sports the signature ADITUFF technology for better toe reinforcement that highly increases its durability.
