Footwear will be the least of a volleyball player’s worries when they’re wearing a pair of Adidas Ligra 5.  The trainer is made of a breathable upper that keeps the foot fresh during intense games. The underfoot platform is made of cushioning that protects the foot from impact and delivers long-lasting comfort.

The rubber outsole provides maximum grip on indoor court floors. An updated version, the Ligra 6, employs most of the same technologies as this iteration. But the upper fabric sports a new print and the shoe has more neutral colorways available.

Traction. The outsole of the Ligra 5 from Adidas utilizes the Adiwear technology. This compound is engineered to be durable and can be used even on rough surfaces. It also provides an excellent grip on indoor surfaces. Its non-marking characteristic ensures that no ugly streaks are left on polished floors.

Protection and stability. The rubber compound wraps up the front and the sides of the midsole. It creates a guard at the front to protect the toes against bumps. The raised portions on the sides contribute to the lateral support.

Shock absorption. Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) foam is used as the midsole of the Adidas Ligra 5. This compound is designed to be soft to attenuate shock to prevent discomfort. This full-length component is also responsive, so wearers can quickly move after landing.

Support and comfort. Inside this pair of volleyball shoes is an EVA sockliner. This component prevents the foot from slipping and also enhances underfoot comfort.
