It's a pretty good price. Is it a good performer? Real good performer. I just wish traction was a bit better especially on dust.

My verdict on the Harden Vol 4s—very very nice perfomer. My only concern is the tongue chafing that I experienced on the top midfoot part of my foot.

However, despite my personal issues with those two areas, everything else really worked well. Lockdown and stability are two major wins while the traction was a huge plus. If you’ve enjoyed the last three Harden models then you’ll likely like the Vol 4 as well. Wide footers may want to try them on first because the elastic band, but otherwise these will suit the needs of those looking for something lightweight, supportive and comfortable.

Overall, this is a really solid shoe. Ihad really nothing to complain about. It's a solid perfomer.

The Harden Vol. 4 is fast, controlled, and has been a personal joy to play in. I do think it may be a hit or miss for some, but from my personal experience it has been a top performer.

The Adidas Harden Vol. 4 is designed to keep James going until the final buzzer. These basketball shoes boast an ultra-lightweight cushioning that delivers optimum comfort and responsiveness.

The Harden Vol 4 features a midfoot band that provides added stability as James euro-steps his way to the basket. These low-top basketball shoes also feature an upgraded traction pattern that is tailored to James’s signature moves.

Cushion. For the Harden Vol. 4, Adidas changed things up and used Lightstrike instead of the well-loved Boost. First introduced in the Adidas N3xt L3v3l, Lightstrike is an ultra-lightweight cushioning system that offers explosive and dynamic speed on the court. The Lightstrike midsole also provides superior energy-return for all-game comfort.

Traction. The Adidas Harden Vol. 4 boasts a generative traction pattern that is engineered to keep up with James’s unique skill set. The generative traction pattern offers exceptional grip on any court surface.

Length and Width. The Harden Vol. 4 reportedly runs snug but has some dead space in the forefoot area. Buyers are encouraged to try the shoes out in-store for a comfortable fit.

Lockdown. James Harden’s fourth signature basketball sneaker features a unique lacing system that provides a secure fit. These low-tops from Adidas are also equipped with a midfoot band for added lockdown and stability. A banking barrier offers added containment when making quick cuts to the basket.

The Adidas Harden Vol. 4 features a mixed-media upper that provides plenty of stability and support. The mixed-media upper also offers increased breathability and durability.

Like his previous signature sneakers, James Harden was once again heavily involved with the design process of the Harden Vol. 4.

“The process to create the Vol.4 was a true collaboration with the Adidas design team that allowed me to voice my creativity and to blend different ideas into one shoe that would showcase both my style of play on the court and my sense of style walking out of the tunnel,” James explained in a press release.

These basketball shoes feature a low-top silhouette for unrestricted range of motion. In an interview, James’s longtime trainer Greg Howell explains how the Vol. 4 helps James succeed on the court.

“He really is a creator in every space he’s in. His mind thinks differently, and I think him being left-handed helps his creativity on the court and his unorthodox way of doing everything. It’s his own creative way, from the step-backs to the small twitches and angles he uses in all his moves. [With the shoes], You can feel you’re locked in, and they’re comfortable, but not restrictive. It helps you start and stop on a dime, which is what James needs to play at his best.”

The fourth installment of James Harden’s signature sneaker comes in a variety of color options. James also collaborated with streetwear designer Daniel Patrick for limited-edition colorways of the Harden Vol. 4.

“Daniel Patrick has been setting trends with his use of bold looks and bright colors, so partnering with Daniel was the perfect way to highlight the design of the Vol. 4 and bring sport, fashion, and culture together,” James said. “While my friends and family get the honor of enjoying this limited first drop, everyone can look forward to the next chapter of building my signature collection.”
