Adidas Forum Refined History
The Adidas Forum was released in 1984 as a basketball shoe with a built-in strap and high-cut profile. Adidas incorporated some unique technologies making it suitable for the hard court. They introduced the Dellinger Web on this model which functions as the shock absorber. This Dellinger Web is a system of nylon net that disperses the impact on the foot; thus softens the overall shock.
The built-in rubber cup found on the heel enhances the protection of this shoe, while the crisscross system of the ankle leather straps prevents the ankle injury. Adidas incorporated the foreflex toe cut to improve the mobility and allows the foot to bend naturally especially during the fast breaks. To further enhance the comfort, the brand used terry cloth lining for a soft and comfortable cushioning.
In 2016, Adidas modernized this 80s kick by issuing a refined version. The brand highlighted the OG colorway and styled it with finest full-grain leather. The iconic ankle strap with the Adidas branding is retained as well as the debossed Trefoil logo on the quarter panel.
