Adidas Flashback Primeknit History
In 1991, Adidas created a sub-brand they called the Adidas Originals. This heritage line carries this slogan “Once Innovative, Now Classic, Always Authentic” when it was launched. They directed at re-imagining the performance sneakers into a modernized lifestyle shoe version. They started their massive campaign in 2008.
One of the classic revivals of the Originals is the Flashback iteration. It was inspired by the 70s running shoe named Dragon. The Dragon was released shortly before Adi’s death in 1978. It has been said that the Dragon is the most overlooked classics in the Adidas. Compared to the other classic Adidas models, the Dragon is flatter and lighter. It showcases the vintage mark of Adidas, the classic 3-Stripe.
The Flashback was originally released in the 70s as a running shoe and was re-launched as a lifestyle pair. The breathable and light mesh upper allows it to be used as a casual street wear. Not long after, a much lighter version was released using the far modern tech of the Adidas. The Flashback Primeknit model carries the same specs of the prior variety except for the Primeknit upper.
The Flashback Primeknit is very versatile, comfortable and an innovative version. It showcases a sock-like fit through the flexible and very technical fabric Primeknit upper, the iconic serrated rubber outsole and the striking signature 3-Stripe branding.
