Adidas EQT Support 93/17 Yuanxiao History
The Adidas Equipment or EQT Line was conceptualized in the 90s by one of the engineers of the renowned Nike Air Jordan 1, Peter Moore. During that time, the Three Stripes was in near bankruptcy; thus they thought of introducing a collection that showcases fuss-free, never before seen elements to its followers. This line focused on introducing footwear and clothing with excellent comfort, performance, and construction. The brand dropped the Trefoil logo in the EQT line and used the iconic 3-Stripe logo.
In 1993, the brand launched the Equipment running shoes which set the new standard of high-performance footwear and apparel in the runner's world. This line began the unique lacing system and the Torsion technology that lets its wearers move to the front and back independently.
Adidas re-launched the EQT Support in 2014 and added "93" to its official name to signify the year this silhouette was initially launched in the market. In 2017, the brand unveiled the EQT Support 93/17, that displayed all the classic features but dressed with the contemporary element, the Primeknit technology. This silhouette maintained the core of the EQT line, which is to deliver "Everything that is essential, nothing that is not."
To continue the momentum of the EQT, the Three Stripes released a limited edition Chinese New Year iteration of the EQT Support in 2018. The EQT Support 93/17 Yuanxiao was launched to pay homage to the famous celebration across China every February. The "Yuanxiao" means Chinese Festival in Chinese, which happens in the last day of the Chinese New Year Festivities. It displays gray/black/red combination to depict the Chinese Lantern Festival while the most responsive cushioning, Boost midsole, has a soft ash green hue.
Adidas EQT Support 93/17 Yuanxiao Style
The low-top Adidas EQT Support 93/17 Yuanxiao kept the iconic EQT Support 93/17 elements and revamped with a design inspired by the Chinese Lantern Festival. It boasts its Primeknit and suede upper with reflective details for added style. To epitomize the authentic oriental vibe, the brand used bright red on the iconic 3-Stripe, on the 'EQT Support' emblem on the medial side, and on the rubber outsole. To add a plushier feel and genuine Chinese sense, Adidas added golden EQT lace lock on the end of the lace cage.
Many buyers choose to dress up or down using the Yuanxiao version of the EQT Support 93/17. Its exciting combination of colors adds vibrant effect to any ensemble. Buyers style this kick with attire that will flaunt their ankle to highlight the overall voguish look of this kick, such as joggers, rolled-up trousers, skirts, or shorts. Meanwhile, tattered jeans and khakis with crisp tees or rolled-up polo can also go well with this versatile sneaker.
Fit & Sizing
The Adidas EQT Support 93/17 Yuanxiao is offered in men's sizing from 5 to 13 US in medium width. Ladies are advised to grab 1.5 down their regular shoe size for a secure fit. Example, if a lady's shoe size is 7, she must take 5.5 in the men's range for a snug and cozy fit.
This model has the conventional lace-up closure system that delivers personalized, secure fit. Meanwhile, the Ortholite sockliner gives superb cushioning while keeping the feet feeling fresh and dry all day. The TPU heel cap with the midfoot caging system provides secured lockdown for the sudden changes in the foot direction.

And to finish the overall festive striking look, the big chunk of Boost midsole is in soft "Jade green" color, which is a first for the Boost, to further enhance the sense of luxury and refinement.
