Good to know

One of the noticeable changes present in the Adidas Edge Lux 4 is its reduced stack height. Compared to its predecessor, the running shoe's stack height has been trimmed down by 5 mm. Although it does not feature the same silhouette as the Edge Lux 3, it does not compromise smoothness and responsiveness.

To permit an adaptive wrap around the contours and natural shape of the foot, the platform is configured with a stretch knit upper. This upper textile sports maximum breathability within the foot chamber, encouraging a healthy foot environment. The same upper element is observed in the Adidas Pureboost and New Balance Cypher Run v2.

Flaunting an upgraded outsole composition, the Edge Lux 4 from Adidas is equipped with a multi-directional rubber outsole. Its primary purpose is to supply optimal traction regardless of terrains and conditions, generating multi-surface adherence for versatile wear.

Similar to most running shoes, the Adidas Edge Lux 4 is constructed following the standard sizing measurements. It is only offered in women's version, so female purchasers can get a pair of the road running shoes using their usual size choice. To secure precise fit and size, it is recommended that the buyer go through several user feedback online or try on the fit of the shoe first before placing an order.

There are a couple of elements of the running platform that affect its fit. One of these is the stretch knit upper of the neutral shoe that envelops around the foot snugly, preventing unwanted shoe dislodgement. Meanwhile, the upper material is complemented by the traditional lace-up closure implemented on the shoe. It permits an adjustable, dialed-in fit.

As mentioned, the Adidas Edge Lux 4 exhibits a new and updated rubber outsole design. Unlike its predecessor, the rubber compound is geared with a multidirectional fashion. This aids in amplifying the grip of the lightweight running shoe for pronounced surefootedness regardless of the ground texture and condition. It is also responsible for the multi-purpose function of the running shoe while highlighting durability for prolonged utility. The rubber outsole is also intended to mitigate the shock during impact, effectively transforming it to the energy needed to boost the racer's pace and momentum. Lastly, it still supports comfort despite its rigid attribute by presenting a pliable characteristic, allowing unrestrained foot motions.

Dubbed as the firmer version of Adidas' Boost technology, the Bounce midsole foam graces the Edge Lux 4 from the brand with heightened support and protection. Although it is quite rigid, it does fall short in optimizing the bounce of the contender, allowing for efficient running performance. This is achieved by boosting the energy return generated as the user's foot hits the ground. It is also comprised of EVA, maximizing the impact protection of the platform, effectively shielding the foot from strain and injury. Despite its heavy-duty construction, the midsole innovation maintains a featherlight bulk, impeding drag.

One of the changes adopted by the Adidas Edge Lux 4 is its revamped upper engineering. Instead of having mesh as its outer wrap from dirt and debris, the neutral running shoe utilizes a stretch knit upper. As the name suggests, the fabric supplies a generous amount of flexibility, permitting a form-fitting wrap. Given this, a lockdown fit is encouraged, preventing any form of slippage. The upper textile also augments the airflow within the foot compartment for an odor- and sweat-free running experience.

Although the upper material already graces the foot with sufficient security, a classic lacing closure system is still implemented on the upper. It gives the wearer the freedom to adjust the fit to give ample comfort to the wearer for a lasting, uninterrupted running performance. The same fastening system is employed by the popular running shoes such as the Adidas Solar Glide ST, Asics Gel Quantum 180 4, and Nike Air Zoom Structure 22.
