Built on the basis of the CrazyFight X 3, this volleyball shoe inherits the construction and materials of the original model but serves them with a mid-cut topping.

With its austere colorways and fine craftsmanship, the shoe creates a rather sleek silhouette. It also employs Adidas’ top-of-the-line Boost cushioning technology for an ultra-responsive ride.

Updates. While the 2nd and 3rd iterations of the CrazyFlight Mid look nearly identical, the newer version features a couple of changes in the upper:

  • Its mesh fabric now has large ventilation pores for enhanced breathability
  • The transitions between the upper materials have also been made smoother and less perceptible in the X 3 model.

Traction. A layer of Top Grip gum rubber helps the wearer stop, jump, and cut without slipping on the court. It features a labyrinthine lug pattern in the forefoot to glue the player’s foot to the floor when needed. At the same time, it allows for quick twists and turns through a large pivot point under the ball of the foot.

Non-marking. Like in any other volleyball trainer, this shoe’s outsole is made of non-marking rubber. It is suitable for indoor courts as it doesn’t leave black marks on the surface.

Cushioning. The CrazyFlight X 3 Mid makes sure the foot stays protected from impact by using a full-length Boost midsole. Considered one of the brand’s most responsive cushioning technologies, it absorbs the energy from each step and jump and returns it back to the player.

Ankle support. An elasticated neoprene-like material wraps the rearfoot. It covers up the ankle, forming a mid-top silhouette for extra support. Because it can be tricky to put on a high-collar shoe, there are two pull tabs attached to assist the wearer.

Coverage. To keep the trainer light and aerated, Adidas employs mesh fabric. It features larger ventilation pores on the toe box to dissipate the heat. Mesh receives its shape and protection from molded TPU fibers. They create light compression to keep the foot in place while adding some wear-resistance to the upper.

Fit. Three extra pairs of eyelets help in making the lacing system dynamic. They give the player more lacing options to achieve a customized fit.

The Adidas CrazyFlight X 3 Mid is a unisex model, but it is constructed based on the measurements of a female instep. This may result in a tighter and narrower fit for male wearers.
