The adiZero™ Ghost 2.0 follows in the path of the original, bringing a more stable build with the light weight, versatile, and responsive performance which it is characterized by.
Profile of the Adidas Crazy Ghost 2
A part of Adidas’ Crazy team model shoe line, the Crazy Ghost 2 features a leather and SprintWeb combo for its upper, SprintFrame and adiPrene+ for its midsole, and a solid rubber compound on its outsole.
Cushion. For the shoe’s midsole cushioning, adiPrene+ foam ensures a comfortable and responsive ride as it is formulated to return energy with every step.
Traction. The Crazy Ghost 2’s traction pattern is unfortunately a step-down from its predecessor as the first Crazy Ghost basketball shoe featured a Puremotion+ midsole. The second generation shoe uses a flatter and less aggressive non-marking outsole with multidirectional herringbone patterns.
Although seemingly a lesser outsole, the shoe’s traction still grips and is very much able to unleash stopping power when needed. You can’t go wrong with traditional herringbone. Outdoor surfaces are not recommended, however, as the pattern will wear out fast.
Length and Width. There is insufficient data regarding the length and width of the Adidas Crazy Ghost 2’s. For a snug and comfortable fit, it is recommended that you visit your local shoe store and fit the shoe personally. Shoes that utilize the SprintFrame tech, usually fit narrow.
Lockdown. The SprintWeb material wraps close to the foot and acts as the wearer’s second skin, keeping the foot strapped into a stable base that is provided by the SprintFrame structure.
For its upper, the shoe combines synthetic leather with the Adidas SprintWeb material. This innovative material is TPU-based, and it provides a lot of goodness such as flexibility, support, lightness, and ventilation. The leather makes up most of the upper while the SprintWeb is implemented on the side panels of the shoe. The tongue adds to the shoe’s breathability with its open mesh material.
Enhancing the Ghost 2’s stability is the SprintFrame tech embedded within the shoe. This is a lightweight chassis that removes much of the bulk that traditional materials bring. The SprintWeb and SprintFrame are usually used simultaneously in the Crazy basketball line as they compliment each other and makes light basketball shoes a possibility. The midsole cushioning features adiPrene+, while the outsole is made of a solid rubber compound.
As for the Crazy Ghost 2’s physical appearance, a common complaint is that the Adidas team model shoes suffer from a disease called “it looks like the others before it.” At first glance, that is. But what sets this apart is the placement of the Three Stripes of the Adidas brand. For this shoe, it is found in the heel area of the lateral side.
The leather used on the upper gives the shoe a classic basketball vibe. Together with the Sprint Web on the side panels, it creates a synergy between traditional basketball materials and modern tech. Making the shoe feel like it costs a bit more than a hundred dollars.
Only two Adidas logos are on the second Crazy Ghost: the equipment logo on the center of the tongue and another one on the heel of the outsole.
Special Colorways of the Adidas Crazy Ghost 2
The Adidas Crazy Ghost 2 comes in three basic colorways: the black/white, the red/white/black, and the blue/white/black. All of which are common team colors.
