Adidas Climacool 1 History
Born in 2002, the Climacool shoes represented an era of progressive design. The futuristic looking sneaker featured innovative, breathable materials that allowed the foot to “feel the breeze,” even allowing airflow through the mid and outsole. Before knit constructions became common, the Climacool was as ventilated as shoes could get.
Back then, consumers weren’t entirely ready for super-light, highly breathable sneakers, and so the Climacool might have been a little too far advanced. However, those attributes have become a staple to today’s performance footwear; added to that is the huge demand for resurrected styles.
It made perfect sense, therefore, that in 2016, the brand breathed new life into this style just in time for spring and summer, ready to impress a whole generation of fans.
Adidas Climacool 1 Style
The sneaker took the brand’s early 2000s running style, and adapted it for today. For comfort and exceptional breathability, this Adidas Climacool 1’s low-top silhouette features a textured, tech-inspired mix of materials.
Staying true to its origin, the shoe offers premium features that promote a great combination of performance and style. Without a doubt, the sneaker is performance ready, yet stylish enough to work it out on the social scene. Eye-catching details include the transparent overlays at the midfoot and toe areas, which also enhance support.
The Adidas Climacool 1 has colorways to offer everybody, from monochromatic black to more striking colors/color combinations. Whichever colorway is preferred, the sneaker has been known to go well with a variety of outfits including shorts, jeans and track bottoms. Already, the shoe has become a spring/summer essential to many wardrobes.
Fit & Sizing
With an airy, padded mesh upper, this sneaker provides a ventilated fit. The Adidas Climacool 1 generally fits true to size, and is available in both men’s and women’s sizes, in regular width. Online, the shoe is available from sizes 4 to 14 for men, and sizes 5 to 11 for women.
Each pair of this low-top sneaker is equipped with the brand’s proprietary Climacool technology, providing a 360-degree ventilation system that cools the entire foot. The shoe also sports its signature three-stripe venting on each side.
