Extremely popular sneakers because of their price range, versatility when it comes to style, and freedom of movement. Almost everyone is guaranteed to have low-top sneakers in their shoe rotation.
Mid-top sneakers extend toward the ankle for a little more support and hold. These lie somewhere in the middle between low-top and high-top sneakers in terms of usage and popularity.
Sneakers with collars that go above the ankles for optimal hold and support are some of the most sought-after models in lifestyle shoes. Most of these shoes take their roots from basketball and have easily or fashionably crossed to mainstream wear.

Adidas Climacool 02.17 Primeknit History
Long before breathable Primeknit impressed a growing generation of fans, there was ClimaCool initially made into a running shoe. This shoe has a mesh-style upper and an ultra-lightweight sole that allows optimum air flow which translates to reduced sweat and increased runner’s performance.
Climacool is a proprietary technology developed by Adidas initially not for shoes but clothing. Specifically, this fabric innovation utilizes a one-of-a-kind engineered fiber which surprisingly wicks any moisture away from the body.
From a tennis polo shirt, the Climacool soon turned up in Adidas running shoes beginning 2002. Plainly called the Adidas Climacool, this shoe had a mesh upper that is fully-breathable allowing air to circulate all the way around the foot. Aside from the fabric, its midsole, outsole, and even the sockliner have venting holes that enable 360-degree air flow. One could totally feel the breeze right through the sole.
A special edition of this shoe was introduced in the same year through a team-up between the Three Stripes brand and Coca-Cola. Not too long later a retro looking silhouette was launched through a running campaign initiated by David Beckham. Several other Climacool infused varieties were introduced later on in the running world, such as the Adidas Climacool Ride, Adidas Climacool Fresh Bounce, and Adidas Climacool Freshride, among others.
After becoming a useful asset in running shoes, the Climacool was integrated into non-performance shoes while still maintaining its moisture dissipating qualities. In 2016, the brand launched the Adidas Climacool 1 which is more of a sneaker than a performance shoe. Like its cousins from other shoe categories, this one also has ventilation channels around the upper.
A year later, for the 15th-anniversary celebration of the Climacool, the Three Stripes label came up with a refreshing (pun intended) version of the first casual kick installment called the Adidas Climacool 02.17. Not too long later, the brand tweaked the upper by integrating two modern breakthrough features which meant to provide optimum breathability to the feet. The modified edition was billed as the Adidas Climacool 02.17 Primeknit.
Adidas Climacool 02.17 Primeknit Style
Adidas Climacool 02.17 Primeknit, a low-top running-inspired sneaker, is like a hodgepodge of various designs produced by the Three-Stripe brand. The pointy silhouette of this shoe wrapped with the contemporary Primeknit covering brings to mind the modern detailing of the Adidas EQT as well as the neoteric appeal of the UltraBoost, NMD, and Pharell Williams Tennis Hu.
This modified approach which utilizes the brand’s proprietary Primeknit tech somehow tames the wildly scoured effect on the original Climacool mesh upper. The toned down one-piece bootie composition gives consumers the option to dress this shoe up or down. For a sporty look, the Adidas Climacool 02.17 Primeknit blends well with tank tops and jogger pants, hoodies and track pants, and dry-fit tees and sweatpants. To achieve an upscale style, this sneaker may be paired with an unbuttoned jacket and cuffed pants, body-hugging shirts and rolled up trousers.
Fit & Sizing
Adidas Climacool 02.17 Primeknit is a ventilated shoe all throughout which makes it suitable for summer. It comes in sizes that go with the standard shoe length. This sneaker is available in men’s sizes that stretch from 3.35 to 15 US. Its one-piece, sock-type Primeknit upper offers an easy slip on and off element.
Its flexible upper configuration is harnessed by a pliable rubber caging placed on the side panels. Its shape narrows to the toe which may feel snug on the front sides of the foot. The eyelets on this shoe are uniquely positioned which allows users the freedom to lace up according to their desired fit.
As its name dictates, the low-top Adidas Climacool 02.17 Primeknit is a breeze to the feet with its lightweight figure and air cooling properties. The finely woven Primeknit upper, perforations on the insole, and air holes from the midsole down to the outsole permit air to circulate within the shoe, making it one of the breeziest sneakers in the market. Its singular-piece upper composition offers the convenience of slipping in and out of the shoe. Its streamlined cover and hollowed outsole make this sneaker not only ultimately breathable but lightweight too.
