Adidas Campus ST History
In the 70s, Adidas launched the Tournament as a basketball footwear. It was later on renamed as the Campus in the 80s, during the era when the Pro Model and the Gazelle rule the market. Inevitably, this athletic sneaker was able to seamlessly cross the lifestyle scene due to its stylish and trendy look.
The hip-hop culture has started to reign the fashion world in the 80s until the 90s. Some groups like the Run DMC and Beastie Boys sported the Adidas Campus in almost all their appearances, which boosted the sales of the said shoe in the market.
Even during the hiatus phase of the Campus, Beastie Boys still wore them in every occasion. The group donned the Campus in their “Check Your Head” album cover which further catapulted the demand for the Campus; thus the Three Stripes decided to bring the Campus back to the market.
The Adidas Originals re-imagined the Campus and turned it into a skateboarding shoe. They launched the Adidas Campus ST which also can also work as a casual sneaker. This stylish model features the classic profile but with minor tweaks to make it more apt on the skateboards.
Adidas Campus ST Style
The low-top Adidas Campus ST showcases a classic basketball silhouette that has been re-engineered to be a stylish skateboarding sneaker. The Three Stripes turned this sporty kick into a practical and straightforward shoe suitable for the casual street style. To make the Campus ST fit for the all-day flaunting, the brand made it very comfortable using excellent padding and cushy midsole.
The Adidas Campus ST can be seen worn with jeans, shorts, joggers, skinnies and even with activewear. Achieving the Thrasher’s style with the comfort of relaxing slippers is possible with the Adidas Campus ST.
Fit & Sizing
The Adidas Campus ST is exclusively available in women’s sizes from 6 to 10 US in medium width. It has a full lace-up closure system for a customizable, secure fit. This pair runs true to size, yet some revealed that it has a wide width; thus, many suggest grabbing a full size down than the buyer’s regular size to achieve a more comfortable fit.
What makes the Adidas Campus ST very striking for many buyers is its classic silhouette that has been on the market since the 70s. The Three Stripes enhanced some elements to make it appropriate for the skateboarding field and to meet the modern lifestyle.
