Good to know

Adidas’ Barricade family has expanded aggressively through the years due to its popularity among entry-level and ace players. In 2015, following the drop of the Adidas Barricade Team 4, Adidas released the supportive Barricade Court. Two years later, the Three Stripes dropped an updated women’s exclusive version.

The Adidas Barricade Court is modified for court players who needed a fast, stable, and durable all-court footgear. Like its predecessor, this tennis footwear is covered with high-wear components while retaining a lightweight built.

Instead of incorporating the Adiprene cushioning from the previous model, this reorganized footgear made use of the Cloudfoam technology. Such midsole property intends to deliver loads of step-in comfort, requiring minimum break-in time. Everything on top sits on a durable outsole that’s suitable on a variety of court surfaces.

Wear resistance. The outsole of the Barricade Court is laid with a wear-resistant Adiwear rubber compound. It doesn’t have the same heavy-duty makeup of the Adiwear 6, which is utilized in the high-grade Barricade shoes. However, the outsole unit of this multi-court shoe is made to keep the foot stable throughout a substantial length of time.

Traction. Its non-marking herringbone tread pattern grants a superior grip on a variety of court conditions, making the Barricade Court suitable on both soft and hard courts. Its flex grooves are molded to aid the natural foot motion.

Since its outsole layout isn’t at par with that from the more advanced Barricade selections, the Barricade Court doesn’t bear a six-month durability guarantee. Such warranty feature consents the user a one-time replacement opportunity for a shoe that sustained a considerable extent of damage to the outsole. See tennis shoes with a warranty.

Support. This shoe from the Adidas stability tennis shoe line is ideal for flat-footed and heavy users who tend to overpronate. It comes with a provision at the midfoot section called the Torsion System. Such a durable device promotes high degrees of stability and support for the Barricade Court.

The Torsion System is made of a thermoplastic arch that links the forefoot and the heel. It allows flexibility at the forefoot while keeping the rearfoot bolted in place during strides, jumps, and slides. It supports the midfoot by helping the arch resist incorrect twisting and bending.

Cushioning. The underfoot cushioning is made up of lightweight Cloudfoam that offers internal support on the arch and heel.  It provides step-in comfort, especially during harsh landing, which makes this Barricade version comfortable instantly from the box.

Lightweight. The modern-looking upper is made of synthetic material that cuts down a lot of weight from the shoe.

Supportive. The Adituff abrasion-resistant feature is built to withstand repeated blows and impact while providing high-level of protection to the feet. This component is placed around the toe and medial forefoot to help shield the toe during foot drags.

A moderately padded collar grants sufficient amount of ankle support, aiding the foot during swift cuts, sudden turns, and hard landings.

  • The Adidas Barricade Court comes in subdued and pastel tones which can be worn off-court too.
  • For chic on-court styling, the light-toned variations play well with color-blocked escouade dress a la Garbiñe Muguruza. Or a quick-drying black halter dress, tights, and finished off with a plain-colored visor like Angelique Kerber’s look.
  • For off-court wear, this shoe may be teamed up with a pair of leggings, pin-rolled pants, tapered jeans, sweatpants, joggers, mini dresses, or shorts.
