Comfort and stability are the core assets of the Barricade line, and this is exhibited by the plushness and strength of the all-court Adidas Barricade Classic. This tennis shoe is laid with mesh and synthetic overlays to enhance support.
To protect the feet against the abrasiveness of court surfaces, Adidas’ Barricade Classic is designed with the Adituff layer at the high-wear zones. Also, a proprietary midsole unit works as a buffer for the feet during impact. Moreover, its reliable outsole gives players the confidence to achieve better maneuverability on hard or soft courts.
Build. The outsole of the Barricade Classic is toughened by a modified, abrasion-resistant Adiwear 6. This rubber component generates implausible durability and grip, whether on clay or hard courts.
Warranty. Adidas offers a one-time 6-month outsole replacement warranty for this version as well as with other specific designs that sustained a significant amount of damage.
Support. For an adaptive fit, the 3D Torsion System is integrated into the midfoot. This shaft provides stability to the heel and flexibility to the front of the foot.
Cushioning. The forefoot and heel are infused with proprietary sports technologies for plush and comfy strides. The heel gets superior cushioning during impact due to the embedded Adiprene. Players can achieve good energy rebound during quick movements because of the Adiprene+ property under the forefoot.
Structure. The Adidas Barricade Classic is made of a synthetic upper with perforations in the front and on the side panels. Such synthetic material grants stability and works as a cooling effect to allow the feet to stay comfortable. It is also fabricated with a mesh insert for moisture management.
Support. An adequate amount of padding is placed in the tongue and around the collar to support the ankle during lateral movements and sudden turns.
Toe shield. Just like with most Adidas tennis shoes, the Barricade Classic is shielded with the Adituff wrapping on the high-wear areas such as the toe and medial forefoot. These spots are mostly exposed to foot drags that arise during volleys, serves, slides, and sudden stops.
- The Adidas Barricade Classic has a removable footbed that can be replaced by a custom orthotics. This extra padding helps in holding the foot in place during movement.
- Its heel pull tab helps to ankle up the shoe.
These two profiles resemble each other since both are made of mesh with synthetic layering. The two designs have perforations in the forefoot and medial sides, and toughened by the heavy-duty Adituff protection in the toe area.
The main difference lies in the midsole composition. The Barricade Classic features the Adiprene cushioning for impact absorption, while the other shoe has the Bounce unit. In terms of performance, the Adidas Barricade Classic Bounce is fitted for those who need the extra springiness.
