The Adistar Boost ESM brings Adidas top of line technology into a supportive shoe. So while it may be fairly (read, super) pricey compared to many similar shoes, it offers incredible comfort with boost foam thrown in to take the edge off of the otherwise hard supportive foam.
Regarding traction, its external rubber does a great job of keeping every step pressed firmly on the ground.

Adidas Adistar Boost ESM size and fit
The Adidas Adistar Boost ESM is true to its size. It gives perfect and comfortable fit to medium-footed and narrow-footer runners. It is available in standard widths for both men and women.
The outsole of the Adistar Boost ESM comes with the AdiWear technology. This is a non-marking carbon rubber that provides not just the durability and protection but great traction as well. The Continental Rubber compound used is designed with the Zonemotion system for added flexibility and responsiveness even on wet grounds.
As one of the Boost, its midsole has the TPU pellets that help the Boost foam technology, thus providing soft cushioning and responsiveness. An adaptive Formotion technology allows for a natural foot strike and the Torsion system is intended to provide stability. The Formotion and Torsion System are also used to provide the support for the heel and sole for better mechanism.
The upper of the Adistar Boost ESM has an Open Mesh material. Breathability and comfort are both tackled well with this upper. The seamless sock-like fit is also provided through the TechFit technology, thus ensuring the snug fit, flexibility, and support.
There is also an External Heel counter, which is purposed to provide a better heel feel and fit while keeping the heel in full comfort and support.
