Adidas Adiease x Mhak History

Skateboarding started out in the late 1940s to early 1950s when surfers in California were looking for something to do whenever the waves were flat and can't ride in the ocean. The sport was first called "sidewalk surfing." By the 1960s manufacturers got hold of this new sport and began making skateboards that looked more like mini surfboards. It was not until the 70s that skateboarding became popular amongst adventure enthusiasts.

Since then the sport gradually gained so much popularity in the US that even kids under the age of 18 were seen riding skateboards rather than playing baseball. With this outcome, brands and manufacturers took notice and created special product lines that solely caters to the demands of skateboarding.

Moreover, companies hired pro skaters as a part of a skateboarding team to pioneer new tricks and endorse their merchandise as well. Some of the most notable Adidas pro skaters that contributed a lot to further the sport are Mark Gonzales, Dennis Busenitz, Silas Baxter – Neal, and Marc Johnson.

These pro-skaters teamed up with Adidas in the early 2000s under the Adidas Skateboarding. This line is a branch of the Adidas Originals and boasts of an abundance of footwear specially designed for skateboarding.
