The lugs are shallower (5mm) than both the Raven (6.5 mm) and Response Trail (8mm), and it has a very unique upper design that is similar to the XT Boost, but looks a little thicker and more protective.

This shoe would be excellent for someone to keep running though the winter and keep snow out of their shoes. It would also make an excellent light hiker providing a little more ankle stability than most trail shoes.

This looks like a road shoe, but it's only when you take the Supernova Riot out for a spin that you realise how robust it is

Updates to Supernova Riot

The Adidas Supernova Riot is an off-road running shoe that enables the wearer to perform with exceptional grace and confidence. It utilizes high quality materials and technologies in order to improve the running output on the trails. It has an appealing design that doesn’t limit or restrict its durable functionality.

The upper unit has a high-cut design, which helps in securing the foot and preventing debris from entering the shoe. Above the lacing system is a hook-and-loop strap that adjusts the fit of the upper. The mesh material used in the Adidas Supernova Riot was woven tightly. It serves as a shield against debris, which might try to enter the shoe.

The mid-sole unit of this running shoe make use of the boost™ technology, a lightweight compound made from TPU pellets. It cushions the foot-landings and sets the foot up for a better take-off. The STABLEFRAME is a unit in the platform that corrects over-pronated foot motion.

Continental™ rubber in the outsole unit protects the rest of the sole unit from wear and tear. It also delivers reliable surface traction, which is needed when tackling various types of terrain. Gripping lugs that face different directions permit the runner to perform more effectively on the trails, especially when it comes to uphill and downhill traversals.

Supernova Riot size and fit

The Adidas Supernova Riot has a standard running shoe length. It uses regular measurements for men and women’s sizes. The available width is medium, so it is able to accommodate those with medium sized feet. Its semi-curved shape follows the natural curve of the human foot.

Outsole

Continental™ rubber is used for the outsole unit of the Adidas Supernova Riot. It covers the rest of the sole unit and shields it from damage caused by abrasion, surface friction and continued use. Its durable nature allows it to last long.

Gripping lugs are molded into the outsole. They face different directions, so they allow the runner to traverse many types of surfaces with ease. Upward and downward treks become easier because of such a design.

Midsole

The mid-sole unit of the Supernova Riot utilizes the boost™ technology, a high quality compound that’s made from the amalgamation of thousands of TPU pellets. It cushions landings well and boosts the runner forward when taking the next step. Its responsive and springy nature gives the runner an energized liftoff.

The STABLEFRAME is a unit that provides structure to the mid-sole. It has a raised medial mid-foot section, which means that it is able to correct over-pronated foot motion. It’s a helpful add-on for those who need additional support.

Upper

The Tight Weave Mesh is used for the upper unit. Its closed construction prevents debris from infiltrating the interior environment of the Adidas Supernova Riot.

Synthetic overlays are stitched onto the upper. They connect directly to the lacing system to assist in adjusting the fit in accordance with the preferences of the runner.

The Hook and Loop Closure System takes advantage of the high-cut design of the Adidas Supernova Riot. The collar can be adjusted through a Velcro strap. When it’s around the foot, debris from the trails won’t be able to enter the foot-chamber.
